i want to dye my hair pink this summer but am debating wether to just dye the tips or streak it in some of the bottom layers.

How I did it: I joined the pinkhair community on livejournal, and finally got the guts to do it in April 2008! I had to wait a while because of marching band, but drumline was cool with it so I went and did it second semester of my senior year. Depending on what shade you want, you need to bleach your hair first. If you want a baby pink color, get it as close to white as you can, if it's brassy you can use a toner or a platinum blonde hair dye. If you're going bright, you can have more brassy tones and it will look fine.

i’m super hyped up about dying my hair pink during the summer. Although there is some speculation as to whether i want to dye just the tips of my hair, or the whole thing: as my school would certainly not approve if i turned up for my first day of sixth form with pink hair. But apparently the dye i was planning to use (Directions) fades after 6-8 weeks and i have 10-12 weeks of summer this year. wooooo! so, i’m still thinking about doing the whole of my head :)
the picture i attached is the colour i desire most, i’ve just fallen in love with the one on the right. However looking at other pictures of people having used the same colour, they had different tones and effects etc. so i hope i replicate this colour and shine okay!

It was so me and it went with my tattoo persona and just the bubbliness that I am…
I had to dye it back to black and I’m really upset.
So my goal… find a job that I can do now that will allow me to have pink hair so I can have it back!!!

i can at least say that i´ve had pink hair! i´ve always wanted to try it but im just not sure…
you see im finnally blond again, wich is my real color, and i kinda wanted to get a golden light brown underneath so i went to the store… and the hair dye was all so expensive, but there was this pack with copper color on hald prize, it was kinda light brown copper color so i got it. I went home and stirred the color together… and it looked suspiciously too pink-red… so i got to scared to put it all in so i decided to put it in the hairs underneath in a 5 sall streaks, but then i kinda liked it so i put it in little strikes in front of the ears as well. Then i waited… and yes maybe i should have waited a little longer…. but my hair turned out well… it came out pink but it faded already. there is one place on the back where its pretty obvious but its underneath so no one really sees it.
however… i have pink hair now… a little :) i still want the light blond!!!

And this time the color is fabulous dark pink! And I absolutely love it ♥ I better take pictures tomorrow and see how it looks like in real light (I still don’t know, cos I just dyed it :D) But here’s the sneak peak :D

I started with a few streaks a couple years ago and then eventually dyed the whole thing. It was my junior year of high school. :) my hair has been back to my natural color for a little over a year now. but i miss my pink hair sometimes. :) it was a magenta color very cool. :D
