joie de vivre is feeling better

In the mid-80s in Beverly Hills 3 years ago

I went to the Cheesecake Factory with my friend Nina some time in the mid-80s, to the one in Beverly Hills. There was a huge wait, and Nina said that, since the wait was so long and this was Beverly Hills, that we should say our name was Rockefeller on the list. Like Beverly Hills isn’t used to posers. OK, whatever.

So, Nina’s in the ladies’ room when they ask me to tell them the name of my party. I had the embarrassment of saying, “I’m with Rockefeller”. I felt like melting in the floor right then.

Anyway, we finally did get seated, and I had some cheesecake. Big whoopie. Maybe now, twenty years later, this place is better, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Well, this was a good dessert place but...I'm not 3 years ago

as thrilled to eat a main course there just yet. I did get the Grande Burrito minus the peppers and it was tasty. However, not to die for or anything like that.

I did go with my niece and she had the corn chowder with artichoke and didn’t seem to like it much either.

Dessert for her was the Banana cheesecake which she really liked after they told her they were out of the Heath bar one. I got the Kahlua cheesecake and highly recommend it. It is very rich though. I think they were worth their price.

I would say this is great for dessert but…as for dinner, I’ll have to try something else if I get the chance to go again. The Cheesecake Factory I went to was in West Palm Beach, near the Kravis Center. We also did City Walk which was interesting and I enjoyed the fountain and making the wish with the coins.

My brother and his wife while they still lived down here 3 years ago

went to it a few times and loved it. I want to try it.

I have plans to do this with my niece before she moves away to North Carolina…

expensive, but worth it a time or two a year 3 years ago

May i recommend the spicy seasame cashew chicken and the white chocolate cheesecake.

I’ve eaten at the one in Atlanta and Boca Raton. both were yummy. But this is like a random treat, no one should eat there more than a time or two a year! then it’s ruined

Cheesecake Factory... No. 4 years ago

Eating at the Cheesecake Factory is more depressing than it is enjoyable. Sure, people enjoy a good splurge dinner now and then… but the portion sizes are completely out of control. The people who eat there all seem to be overweight, and it’s no wonder why considering that the lightest slice of cheesecake (even the low-carb variety) is 900 calories. If you consider that you’ve eaten at least half of an enormous plate and a 900 calorie slice of cheesecake, you’ve practically eaten your days worth of calories on one dinner which does not have any real value to your health. It’s a common case of American gluttony.

    CHEEEEEEESECAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE.

    MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM-Yum.

I had one of the small salads... 4 years ago

and I think the bowl was bigger than my head! lol! The salad itself was ok, but the banana cheesecake was delicious:)

can anyone say 4 years ago

    ‘highly overrated’

food was metza metza and for the cost it should have been superb. that wasn’t the problem. the problem was the cheesecake… i have eaten better cheesecake from a box. heck, i am fairly certain my 5 year old could make better cheesecake out of mud!

but they do have one thing going for them… the servers were top notch and deserve a hefty tip since they were polite, attentive and smiling. i like that.

the management make the outrageous claim that the cheesecake should only be used if you want to grout some tile. management believes they do use it to grout tile in some of hell’s finer bathrooms. but management doesn’t have first hand information on that and in no way wishes to be quoted, unless of course the claim can be substantiated and poked fun at.)

    Very Good 4 years ago

I ate at one in Atlanta. The food was pretty good, also the cheesecake was good as well. It was my first experience with valet parking, I really like the idea of not looking for a parking space. I would certainly visit the Cheesecake Factory again!
