I worked on this a few nights in a row and had a few results that I was proud enough of to show a few people, I’m too wound up to sleep so I’m about to go do some more. word.
i bought a mack brush a few months ago and haven’t touched it until earlier today. i found 43 things while researching pinstriping and signed up.
i need to make a grid and i believe i have a suitable piece of glass to practice on.

Get the video I found at Amazon or request the library purchase it.
Review my brushes, might need new ones.
Buy paint.
Find random objects willing to be test models.
i pinstripe. its awesome. i think the hardest part is clean curves. once you got that down its pretty easy.
im learning to do it, but i have to say it wasnt to hard. i dunno if it was just me but its easy. the hardest part is getting things even, but if u learn to work off the lines u already laid down, its not bad. DO IT!!
pinstriping is a dying art. there arnt to many young people doing it, its mostly the old guys that holding onto it. i love the art style. the lines and the way they work with eachother is the best part. all my art work is weird abstract line drawings and i would love to learn how to do it. i just need some brushs, paint, a clean surface, and maybe a book by ed roth!
yeah, I want to learn to pinstripe. I have a friend who builds from scratch or restores old roadsters. They have this guy, Alan Johnson, who does all their stripe work. He’s good. There’s a shot of him striping Jakes tool box. He striped a picture frame for me. The guy needs to warm up and Jake hooks up his friends. Anyway….....I’ve been interested in it since he turned me onto the art. The brushes alone are sleek and sexy and the deep colors of the heat tolerant paints…....WOW!! I want to learn the by hand method….none of the tape and rollers for me! Keep us posted on how your doing!
