I decided to go natural as of April and now that the braids are out, it’s been a little difficult to manage, but I believe in time it will be trained.
How I did it: I started to was my hair every 2 days or sometimes more. I also start
moisturising my hair at least once a day. I sleep in a silk scarf. NO
HEAT!!! I avoid all heat. Before washing my hair I do a coconut oil
treatment. I apply conditioner to my hair then add warm coconut oil on
top. I leave this on for a few hours then I was my hair with
conditioner. Washing my hair with mostly conditioner is very good for
locking moisture in my hair.
Lessons & tips: Take good care of your hair. Wash often....blah blah blah lol

LunaNueva is ready for 2010!!
This morning my hair ended its phase of long-neglect. Instead, it indulged in a little pampering: thorough washing, rinsing, and conditioning, plus I completely untangled it with my extra-wide-tooth comb. It feels so nice… I must now schedule a haircut appointment.
Today I actually remembered that I have beautiful hair :)

My hair is pretty long now, it’s reached the middle of my back. I’m starting to really notice some split-ends. So, I sat by a really bright window, wrapped small sections of my hair around a finger and proceeded to “unroll” it ever so slowly. It causes all the ends of your hair to stick out, and you’ll see the split ends. Anyway, I painstakingly cut off most of my split-ends. I’m going to do this again in about a week.
At Canadian Tire the other day, I saw this item called “The Split-Ender”. I may purchase this and try it out.
okay, so i’ve started on my new conditioner. so far i don’t notice a HUGE change…but i haven’t been consistent, still trying to use up some of the old products. still having some issues w/ tangles.
however, i have noticed a difference regarding shampoo use. before, my scalp had the tendency to sometimes get a little dry & flaky. not like, dandruff, but mildly irritated. (when it happens to my face, i just use moisturizer. often in the winter but occasionally during the summer too, when we have too many dry days in a row.) my scalp feels much better & is way less itchy. i guess the cleansers in my old shampoos really were a lot harsher than i actually needed! they must have been irritating my scalp, & i just never thought it was that much of a problem.
so well, so far i’m really liking this goal. it’ll be good for me.
lately my hair has been more difficult to manage. it tangles much easier, & it hasn’t even been that long since i’ve had a trim. & the tangles are all over, not just on the ends.
i’ve been reading some forums & blogs about girls who have curls. apparently right now it’s all the rage to go for a more natural shampoo/conditioner routine. sulfate-free, as they say. basically, use less harsh products on my hair. & i know i’m not big on trends, but it’s kind hard to ignore the logic. not to mention their pics in which their hair looks much better than mine.
i’m cheap/lazy, so i gotta use up the rest of my non-natural hair products first. i ordered some fancypants conditioner (jessicurl), so i can’t wait to try it out. i’m probably just going to the store for shampoo, not spending as much money on that.
we’ll see how it goes.

My hair is now the longest it’s been since I was forced into a perm at eleven years old. Despite pressure, I am wearing it natural…
Correction; Despite enough pressure to turn my carbon atoms into a diamond, I am remaining firm in my resolve not to have it either chemically or heat processed.
As a result, I’m getting a lot of seethe and snippy comments with double meanings. Most of this is, ironically, coming from The Maternal Parental, her sisters, and her friend. All of whom either dye, press, or do something to their hair to damage it. It’s like the longer it gets, the more the comments come flying.
Wild.
Pushing them aside, I’ve got to get some more shampoo. I saw a sale on Pantene in the supermarket a few weeks ago and I’m hoping on another one in a few days. Hopefully, I’ll have some money to spare as I really like using Pantene now.
Triniprincess Merry Christmas!!!
but I’ve sure done this in the last 6 months and I’m definitely proud of myself.
I have started to take care of my hair a little better then I used to. I have started washing my hair 2-3 times a week. I have started to do a coconut oil hair treatment before I wash my hair which is helping my hair to become stronger and much softer. I have to do some more things to my hair so that it can grow much longer. I have also started to take vitamins.

I want to enter into a polygamous marriage with Pantene and any future partners we may come across. This conditioner has literally taken the headache out of combing my hair.
Before, it would take at least an hour to get through everything and, even then, I’d still be left with a not so good style. With the Pantene conditioner, I was able to get through my hair in fifteen minutes. No tears [as in lachrymal], tears [as in rip], or anything. My sigh of relief could probably be heard for kilometers if it weren’t for this Alberta Clipper.

I was so exhausted from the work I’ve been doing over the past few days that, by the time I was out of the shower, I was too tired to do much with my hair.
I did manage to get it into two bunches. As little as a three months ago, this current state of my hair wouldn’t have been much more than a dream. My hair was still short to the point where I had a third, annoying, bunch at the back. Now though…
With Spring, my hair is only going to grow faster too. It always happens like that. Wild.
