Step one: Find a customer. Step two: Make them happy. Rinse. Repeat.
As I continue to expand my career, my primary goal is to increase my income so I can get past hurdles like paying the mortgage every month, getting affordable health insurance, etc…
This is all stuff people tend to take for granted in the world of the 9:00 – 5:00 grind, because your employer is finding the customers, doing the marketing, accounting, billing, etc… I’m on my own, and I tend to neglect stuff that needs attention.
Like developing a marketing plan. I know I want to send out monthly promo mailers, but I still need to expand and refine my mailing lists, and do better about keeping in touch with existing clients.
Time for that to change. Time to set a marketing schedule and stick to it. Let’s hope it has a measurable impact on the bottom line.
