I returned to Norway for the first time in January this year. It was great practice – and it made me realise how rusty I am. I’m going to keep trying!
Current Norwegian practice:- Picked up some great books in Norway. Am slowly making my way through them!
- Reading Aftenposten at least 2-3 times a week.
- Reading my town’s local paper once a week.
- Get some films, tapes – podcasts maybe? – for more listening and speaking practice.
- Write in my blog in Norwegian once a week.
- Be better at keeping in contact with my Norwegian friends and family… more emails, ahoy!
- Befriend some people who blog in Norwegian…

Although I learnt fluent Norwegian when I lived there some years ago, I don’t get nearly enough practice. As a result, my Norwegian has gotten pretty rusty!
I need to read and write more Norwegian, but especially I need to speak it more often. Solution:
1. Read Aftenposten more regularly: http://aftenposten.no/
2. Buy some more books online and actually read them
3. Make some Norwegian friends in Sydney!
