Remain Calm. 6 months ago

This is not a goal I was planning to do but it none the less happened recently. It is not a goal I would ever recommend to anyone. If it does happen just try to remain calm.

I don’t know if I can actually achieve this on my own. I’ve heard if you jump hard when the elevator starts to move then it’ll get stuck. I personally call bull on that.

But I’d like to get stuck on an elevator with someone interesting. Or famous. Or both. Or maybe just by myself, you know, time to rest and meditate.
:D

Happened to me while attending UArts in 2005. Passengers were late for a critique and not happy at all…!

Oh man. Me and like 4 other girls were trying to get to the highest level in the Atlantis, we actually weren’t trying to, but it was fun going up so many steps. I know, I know, lame, but it was like, when I was 12. At the time, we weren’t staying in the hotel, so when we took the elevator, it required the room key to go down. We didn’t have one, so we just stared at the buttons for a second and realized that we were stuck. Then one of the girls had the nerve to say, “I really need to use the bathroom,” the moment we get stuck. It was so stupid, and I’m frightened to death of heights, so I just went into a corner and kept a stiff upper lip as I imagined us plummeting to our doom. Needless to say, after pressing the emergency button, a kind young woman called us down to the lobby and just told us to press the large button saying, “LOBBY,” to get down to the main floor. I felt like the biggest idiot and I couldn’t even stand 10 minutes of 4 other people freaking out. It wasn’t worth getting stuck in an elevator; sorry.

so when i was in madrid with my fam, we were staying in an apartment. the elevator, like all prototypical european elevators, was quite tiny. and it moved quite a bit if someone jumped up and down in it- a little disconcerting. anyways, one afternoon, none of us wanted to take the stairs, and nobody wanted to wait for the elevator very long, so we all piled in. well, that poor old thing gave out about halfway up. we were stuck. and we were packed in there like a bunch of sardines. and it certainly didn’t help that my mother and the friend that was with us are both claustrophobic. there was an emergency phone in there, and luckily im fluent enough in spanish that i was able to alert the operator to our situation and let him know where we were. but my mother simply couldn’t wait till help arrived. she started pulling at the door, straining with all her might. and quite unexpectedly, the door finally started to budge open. thought the elevator was between two floors, she pulled the door open wide enough that we were able to get out.
while this experience was pretty scary to everyone else involved, i actually was laughing the whole way through it. which was not appreciated by everyone else. but it was pretty funny.

I was stuck in a small elevator with 9 other people, 8 of which were male. They were mostly my classmates and my teacher. They had the habit of cramming as many people as they could into one lift. On this day they regretted the decision. We were stuck for about half an hour. Everyone spent the whole time making jokes so it was pretty fun despite the extremely cramped conditions.

I was stuck for an hour and a half with my ex (while we were dating) and three girls I knew, so it wasn’t that bad. Though one of the girls had to pee in a cup haha. When people finally came to help us out, we had to sort of slide down because we were between floors. I wouldn’t suggest anyone TRY to get stuck, but it’s an experience worth having.

I’m terribly afraid that this will never happen to me. I know it would be life-changing, if it ever did occur.
