Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

I had recently been told that I have “artistic talent”, so this has motivated me a little to draw more. 8 months ago

Last night. This time from memory. I felt more connected to what I was doing than the night before. I like it when I’m able to zone out. Although, I don’t always begin with that expectation in mind. 9 months ago

Last night. It was ok. I want to get in touch with why I am doing this. I think it will help. Just putting it out there for now. 9 months ago

I feel like I’m starting in the right direction, though it’s going on the back burner this upcoming month because of nanowrimo. Being a first time mum, I’ve spent these last 10 months just trying to figure out how to survive sleep deprivation, let alone trying to find the time to sit down and draw.

Well, the sleeping hasn’t really improved, but my body has finally surrendered and adapted so I feel like I can do more things with my time now. I found a group on tumblr called that sets up fun drawing prompts and I’ll definitely be participating (later). I’m also now a part of a brand new blog that takes written messages and quotes and turns them into cute doodles on request, though like I said I’ve had to put that aside temporarily. I still managed to contribute a few drawings before going on hiatus though :) 13 months ago

I have started to draw more now. I used to draw a lot a long time ago, but for some reason, I stopped. I want to get some advice books and try to get better at it because I actually miss drawing quite a bit. 16 months ago

I need to set at least an hour everyday dedicated to my craft. It’s getting ridiculous now… 17 months ago
