I had a blog…but wrote probably once a year. I’m keeping that blog for myself, but want to create a new one that I will write more on. I ALSO want to follwo my FRIENDS’ blogs more. I have quite a few friends with blogs, and I’d really like to follow them. It’s a great way to keep up with friends and family.

I am going to count this goal as finished, even though I will continue with my Rose City Reader blog for a long time to come.
Today is the day to mark it as complete, however, because my blog made it into the news! My blog was listed as a resource in an article in The Sunday Oregonian about reading Henry James novels. I am very excited about this.

When it snows, you have two choices: shovel or make snow angels
I wrote up two lj’s and a vox blog this week. I met & exceeded my blogging goal for the week.

I made an account and wrote a few entries already, but I want to make my own notebook-style template and that has proved difficult.

I added this goal because I felt inspired to write a blog. What I wanted to acheive was a diary style blog, more for me than for anyone else.
I love 43T for it’s wonderful structured approach. I like that I can compartmentalise into goals whilst keeping in mind the bigger picture. However, sometimes I want to reflect on wider issues that don’t fit neatly into a box.
So, I created a blog. I could post a link to it or direct you but really I’m covering the issues here that I broach there and likewise. Hence why I’m not sure if I’ll continue there, plus I think I’m happier here.
Another concern I have is privacy. I’ve made a potential mistake in using the same username in more than one place (I think lots of people do this). It hasn’t worried me before but I’ve had a slight stalker issue and it made me realise that on Freecycle my username is connected with my email address, which contains my real name. Mostly I’m not bothered by people I know reading entries (my hubby, Mum and friends have been here on 43T), however, it would be quite easy for people I only know vaguely to read quite intimate information. I suppose that could happen here too but for some reason I feel more secure here!
I’m not going to delete my blog just yet, I’m going to let it mature a little and see if it develops into something different from what I gain from 43T. If it doesn’t then I’m happy to let it go and focus my energies here.

I have two blogs. One I haven’t updated until tonight since January 1, the other so sporadically that the person who originally set up my account for me, commented on my comment, two days ago, “You live?” As I haven’t died, I believe he was commenting on my lack of blogs & comments.
I have been fairly introspective and quiet this year. I guess it is time to start talking about my thoughts again. I don’t blog on anything past my life and its meanderings. My followers tend to be a small select group who wonder what I am doing & thinking these days. Not a blog to attract crowds, just loyal friends and family.
I think I’ll start slow with an entry a week, each blog.

i had been letting it go. mostly because i felt like i lacked clarity in my theme. but i have decided that is a lame excuse. yes, my theme and approach certainly need refining, but all that fine tuning is something i could be doing by actually blogging. through the practice of maintaining the blog with regular posts, it will find a life of its own through trial and error and a body of substance from which interesting material can be molded.
really, i have just been reluctant to post because i am reluctant to let my block suck. admittedly a sound reluctance, but i’ve been taking the wrong approach. after reading this post from blog master steve pavlina http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2008/12/calibration/ i have decided to just do it. it’s ok that this blog is not the best blog because going through the somewhat painful process of keeping it from sucking less and less is good practice for me. if after some consistent work, this blog is irredeemably uninteresting to others, i’ll know more about what not to do for my next blog.
thank you, steve pavlina.

I had to let my second blog go when I moved. My new neighborhood didn’t have enough material to keep it going. My third, and latest, is a dad blog.
