ok, the surgery has gone form “no rush” to something that’s an actual obstacle in my life. not having it is holding me back from doing things i want to do, so i’m looking at having it within the next year or so.

It really sucks that i was born in Ohio, but definitely something to work towards.

SRS or not SRS? 3 years ago

I deliberartely took my time in my gender transition, about deciding whether or not to have surgery. I had been close friends with someone who became obsessed with the idea, and had “fallen apart” after the results didn’t match her high expectations.

I realised that I was “overdue” for the op when I visited a friend recovering from SRS in a Sydney hospital. She mentioned that there was another Girl there as well, and when I popped in it turned out to be an old highschool chum of mine! I was envious, and it just highlighted the deep need I had to have SRS.

After that, I spent a year investigating the possibilities and going off and having it. I went to Phuket in 2000 and have never had any regrets about the surgery itself (full story at Queer Stuff

this one’s a no brainer, but if I’m totally honest it’s not a high priority. Sure, it’d be nice to get rid of bits of me that shouldnt be there, but i can get by while they are still there.

I’m in no rush to go have major surgery, and may never have it at all, if i get to the stage of saying “yay” or “nay” to it, and dont feel i’ll get any real benefit, then it’s coming off the list of things to do.
