i’m working up to this now.
hopefully i can run in on labor day. the weather should be good, and that gives me plenty of time to work up to it.
I can do it! up to 4 miles straight now….will be at 5 miles by the end of September!
still looking forward to logging an official 5k time sometime soon!
happy running to all!
so excited – I’m now running 3 miles straight, plus another mile after a short walk break….
should be officially 5k ready by the end of this month….now I’ll be happy if I can just find an actual 5k anywhere around here before november!
I did this once this morning and once last week so I’m pretty chuffed. I was on a real high the first time :-) Now I just have to keep it up and keep working on the speed and then the distance!
A lot of times in a race, your legs and lungs hurt so bad, and your mouth is so dry, you ask yourself why you’re doing it. Let me tell you: it’s for the feeling afterward. The runner’s high. You feel on top of the world, like you could run forever, and like everything is amazing. It comes in different levels, and it doesn’t happen everytime. I can remember several distinctly: once a 4 mile run in the rain, once an 8 mile run that just felt good.
Oh, I forgot to mention: when I first decided I wanted to be a runner, I could not even run two blocks. Not kidding. Keep it up guys!
I have been soooo sick for the past month with bronchitis that I haven’t been able to run at all….
Will get back on track this week – so I can attempt to complete a 5k on Earth Day (exactly one month from today)!
So I ran/walked this today. My goal is on Wednesday to run a little more and keep increasing it until I can complete the whole thing. Cool thing today was it seemed that I had more enrgy.
So I ran/walked 2.8 miles yesterday and today I am thinking of adding one more lap so its 3.5 miles, and running more and walking less everyday. I might make this goal before 7/9 (getting hitched day) and it should help me make my goal of losing a few more pounds!
I did this today in the Cure Leukaemia 5k run in Sutton Park. Weird thing was that it took me longer than when I stopped and walked on the same route in another event a couple of weeks ago. Oh well, next goal is to do it faster!
