difficult.
I’m 300+ pages into Great Expectations and it is hard to read. I am not enjoying it, but I am forcing myself to do it.
How I did it: So Great Expectations did not met my expectations. However I do realize that is the entire point of the book.

Well I’ve started a “Tale of two cities” the first couple of pages were hard to get into (I haven’t read anything to challenging lately) Now I think I’m getting into the rhythm of the story. Yeah!
Like everybody else, I had to read Great Expectations in high school, and I hated it. I read it again last year and appreciated it a lot more. So I say—if you read Dickens in high school or something, give him another shot. You’ll probably like him a lot more.

I need to work on the muscle between my ears. This looked like a good place to start.

I love Charles Dickens’ works. I was introduced to his writings when I fell in love with all of the A Christmas Carol movies as a kid. I love the depth of his writings and the way he weaves his characters like a tapestry and one seemingly un-important character that appears in the first half of the story will suddenly re-appear in the second half as a pivotal character to resolve the story line. I love it! :)
My all time favorite though is Little Dorrit. Ohhhhh how I love that story.
mad musical genius thinking it's not long till Christmas :)
Bleak House and Nicholas Nickleby, I think. My mother used to read the whole of ‘A Christmas Carol’ to us children every Christmas eve, for about three winters! (She ended up a bit hoarse afterwards.)
