all my messages and art is going to Alex’s door mat. It’s part of a plan that I’ve constructed. Instead of focusing on the negative, the fact that he insists we can’t be together, I am going to bring about the positive and hopefully make things better. When I think of Operation Door Mat I start singing “Hey Jude.”
But seriously. Quotes, mix CDs, random pieces of art. All will be laid at his door mat and followed by a text message that reads “knock knock.” Other than that there doesn’t need to be any communication for a little while.

I found a whole bunch of notecards with complex Physics equations. It’d be cool to decoupage them to my white bedside table. Imagine the joy the person must have felt flinging them into the air when they burst out of the test… Art exists in every action.

I found a bouquet of daffodils- a full bouquet, tied with a string- while I was on jogging the C&O Canal and I split them up and left single flowers on car windshields.

paper chain
I will make several chains of red paper hearts for valentine’s day and give them to strangers. Secretly. People feel lonely on valentine’s day- they shouldn’t have to.
And one for Alex.
Step 1: Gather supplies.
Step 2: Figure out how to make paper chains.
Step 3: Select location and strangers.
Step 4: Celebrate success.
Should there be a message on the hearts?

roll of paper
I was taking a walk one morning when I came upon a bin full of office supplies sitting by the curb for trash pick-up. Right on top were rolls of paper, like the kind you print receipts on. So I took one and had it in my bag for a little while but [inevitably] it was taken out at some point and left at Alex’s house. I need to get it back so I can work this goal! It is so perfect for this goal! Car windshields and side mirrors, books at the library and Barnes & Noble… Although post-its would be better for places like the supermarket where I could stick them to the underside of cans.

I just got back from B&N. I stuck just one in a book.
Let’s hope someone finds it. (:
I’ve made a goal to place five somewhere-four more to go!

I’ve always hoped to find something like this in a book or something.
I’ve got like a ton of them though…so I’m starting tomorrow, at the library and bookstore and wherever else I’m running errands.
Yay! Wish me luck that someone actually finds them. :D
