naughtyminx78At last!

He’s off off off and away!

Wheeeeeeeeee….....

He’s so chuffed to be able to ride properly and asking every day when we can next ride. Once Ems can pedal properly ten hopefully I can start riding alongside them instead of running behind!

Very proud of my Jimmers! 4 months ago

naughtyminx78So close...

...to being a confident rider, we just need that little more practice!

We went out for a New Year’s Day bike ride and Jimmers got rather frustrated by the other people walking, by his coat catching on the seat, by the hardness of the seat, his chain coming off etc!

I maintained patience, ignored the dramas and gave lots of praise when he was trying. Again he managed to get started a good few times but then puts his feet down! Hoping for another bike ride today if the children are in the mood! 4 months ago

naughtyminx78Tricky....

......to pursue bike riding practices when Jimmers has a broken arm :-/ 6 months ago

naughtyminx78Progress report!

We’ve taken the bikes out the past two days up to a local park with a lovely big open green space to minimise risk of falling off injuries!

Jimmers has managed 3 good cycles balancing and pedalling without me holding on. I need to build up his confidence whilst ignoring his drama queen performances when scratched with a pedal and the such!!

We’re giving our sore bottoms a rest today but hoping to get lots more practice in over the weekend! 9 months ago

naughtyminx78Going now.....

To collect Jimmers a new bike! His old one was going to cost more to repair than the bike is worth but luckily a friend at work is going to lend me one for a few years and then if Jimmers gets on with it I’ll buy him a new one for his birthday! 9 months ago

naughtyminx78I know he's capable....

....of riding a bike. I just haven’t taken him out due to both of bikes needing servicing. Stupid really.

He’s fabulous on the reading, writing and swimming fronts…..
Just need to sort out the bikes! 13 months ago

naughtyminx78Urgent puncture repair required!

He’s reading and writing without any assistance for a long time now. His Nanna bought him a fairly long book yesterday and he read it in one sitting. We’ve been reading The Tempest (the young adults version) in preparation for seeing his Dad perform in Return to the Forbidden Planet this week (the show is loosely based on The Tempest).

Today he swam for the first time properly without armbands!! Sadly, I was at work and he was with his Nanna, who’s looking after him this week while I’m at work, but I’m not too disappointed as we had a couple of really good swimming pracitces in the sea whilst I was on leave and I’m hoping that helped his confidence!

Last thing now is to ride his bike without stabilizers. I had great intentions of doing it whilst on holiday but didn’t get around to repairing his puncture. He had a bit of a go on his friend’s bike but kept leaping off as he was scared of falling off! I have a few days leave at the end of the month so I _must) get it done then!! 21 months ago
