truly remarkable. The “slings and arrows of outrageous fortune” seem to have dented her ability to care about others hardly at all, and I am truly awed by this.
I would love to be able to be so “unwounded” that I could approach people with so much positive energy, but that isn’t possible for me. Frequently, this means I shoot myself in the foot with the people I care for the most, and I’m uncertain how to change it.
Perhaps this is what faith gives you?

and so hadn’t gotten the mail. DH brought it in with him when he got home, a minute ago (10:50 pm!). He’d had a long day and then went to a friend’s gallery opening….
Anyway, the mail brought me unexpected goodies: a box of dried salmon from a friend in the San Juan islands and a postcard from Mary Hawkins! Then DH told me that the friend who is our contact at the gallery will send me good vibes next week.
Honest to God people. I’m really NOT used to this! Most of the time the people who do more than make the required polite noises at me are people who I support and that’s why they know what’s going on with me. When I’m not being a part of their support network, they go away. But here you all are, as much or little as you do and you’ve been there for me for the past month.
There are no words, or the only words I can think of are inadequate: thank you.

without all the support I’ve gotten here and elsewhere from my friends.
Thank you.
I haven’t been reading other people’s stuff, not even cheering most of the time, and this has been going on for a month or so, and still I get these supportive posts and cheers almost daily.
For a person who is unused to having people actively CARING about what happens, this is a wholly unexpected miracle.
Thank you—
Judith
