So I am going to really try to make this happen in spring 2010 when the water is high again.

This is just something I have always wanted to try at least once in my life. Planning on driving out west next summer and perhaps I could incorporate this into the trip at some point… 4 years ago
Not being a big fan of water and all, I thought that I would hate it, but it turned out to be totally awesome. Along with Kayaking, which I am thinking about taking up because we have a kayak course right here in town, right by my favorite place, the Pueblo Levee! 4 years ago
I just saw River Wild again, and I’m all pumped up.
My family used to whitewater canoe when I was a kid, and I loved it. I’ve done ocean kayaking, etc, and it was so much fun.
I need a physical challenge to get ready for, and the Kern River is calling. It needs to happen this year. 5 years ago
Meat= huge wave.
Do it.
If you are on the fence with this adventure, just do it.
I went last week on the Penobscot River, in Maine and it was a fantastic time! This was the second rafting trip i’ve ever been on. I recommend sitting in the front, because you get the wettest and it’s always a crazy time! Falling out isn’t AS bad as it sounds, just don’t panic. Many people think that you are in rapids for the entire time. Many rivers have spread out rapids so you don’t have to worry about paddling your brains out for 2 or 3 hours straight. Usually each hit only lasts 5 to 20 seconds, depending on the river of coarse. The adrenaline flairs up each time, and you are only focused on digging your paddle into a chunk of water whenever you’re being ripped apart by the rapids. It’s a great way to escape the city and enjoy the beautiful nature, and well paddling down a river for a few hours is also a great little work out. I am most certainly going to do this again in the near future. 5 years ago
I’ve done this twice—Once on the AR River and once on the CO River. Way cool and way fun. I’d do this again. 5 years ago
