watch the famous BBC version of Pride and Prejudice, because, as Picasso's Muse said, deep down I know it is something I simply must do.

i watched 90% of DVD 1
watched 100% of DVD 2

for some reason i always fall asleep during the last 10% of DVD 1

and, now, i cannot find it (trust me, this is a temporary situation, albeit annoying)

but i need to rewatch the last 45 minutes or so… was SO sleepy that I didn’t fully absorb.

am quite enjoying it, as Elizabeth might say.

before Picasso’s Muse’s upcoming birthday. :-) And also before it was due back at the library (tomorrow).

And now I must confess . . . that I had actually seen it before. As soon as it started playing, I recognized it.

Oddly, when I saw this goal on bookish’s list, what I remembered was not having seen the film but having longed to see it. Isn’t that interesting that the yearning should be more vivid to me than its fulfillment? I still don’t remember when I saw this the first time – but I most thoroughly enjoyed seeing it again.

This time I will remember Elizabeth & Darcy’s looooong look at each other across the room, as she stands next to Georgiana at the piano.

I just went to the library website to see what the heck was happening with the DVDs I requested, because on Tuesday I went to pick up the item that I had been notified was waiting for me . . . & what the Popular Library clerk handed me was a book I had requested after P&P.

OK, so today the website tells me that P&P is waiting for me & must be picked up by tomorrow! Good thing I checked. Obviously the clerk didn’t look carefully enough the other day.

I’m going to have a fun weekend. :-)

This morning I was going to pick up P&P at the library—I had gotten notice that it’s ready. But the rare & coveted No. 2 bus arrived just as I got to my stop near the library, so I hopped on it.

Then, because the library actually closes at 5:00 p.m. on Fridays, I left work more than an hour early to make the pickup . . . but No. 2 bus was delayed by traffic & didn’t get me there by 5:00. I even went to the door of the People’s Library & made beseeching faces at the guard who was letting people out, but no way would he let me in.

Obviously deep down I do know this is something I simply must do. But the rest of the universe seems to need some convincing.

I am REALLY looking forward to watching this. I hope it arrives at Harold Washington Lib. soon!

i tried to watch tonight. I should have known better than to try when very tired and reclined comfortably with a blanket. you know what happened next. and it is NO reflection on the amazingness of Pri and Pre… Just loved the smoldering looks of Mr. Darby and the impish sparkle of Elizabeth’s eyes as she ponders his various insults at that first dance…

go about doing this?

i am clueless as to where to obtain this…
