Wait for 1, then 3 come along at once! 3 months ago

Well this has come out of nowhere. First – one of my mates wanted someone to partner with him at Muay Thai so I volunteered and now 5 months later I’m still going strong. THEN he wanted a ground based martial art and we happened across two former national champions ( one british and one polish) who had just opened a judo club with the aim of being the best club in the country within 5 years. I am currently an orange belt and have my first competition in November. And thirdly, because we now have a stand up and a ground based martial art, both me and my mate are having a go at MMA next year. We’re also looking into BJJ at the mo.

Choices~ 6 months ago

I think I’ve all but decided on Tae Kwon Do.

Originally I’d wanted to study something of Japanese origins (as I intend on living there for a while, and the language will probably be my university major), and I’m still somewhat attached to the idea of ninjutsu even though the closest school is an hour and a half drive from home.

Tae Kwon Do is of Korean origins, and I keep coming back to it. There’s a school very close to my house and its principles, morals, and form all seem like we could work nicely together.

Kyokushin & Aikijujitsu 9 months ago

This has been a life long goal of mine; and I’ve finally got up and started down this road.

As of monday I am now a 4th Kyu in Kyokushin Karate and Aikijujitsu both. Couple more years and I will have a blackbelt but in my organization you havent reached master level until 4th Dan so this wont be set as finished until then.

I’d like to go to Japan and train ninjitsu there for a while…after gaining there probably move to Thailand and train Muay Thai. That would make me a kickass ninja, hahaha.

Martial arts 21 months ago

I’ve been thinking about this for a while, I need exercise and this likes a fun and useful way to do it :) Havn’t got a clue which martial art at the moment, but one that lets me kick ass like they do in the films would be great! :) Might join a uni society or something next year

Taekwondo 23 months ago

My dad is a TaeKwonDo master and I have learned from his studio my whole life.

ive always liked the martial arts and have tried a few but ive never had the commitment to see it through to the end. being a black belt not only shows that you have mastered a martial art and that generally your a hard case but it shows that you commited yourself to it. watching the old steven seagal or the UFC fighters makes your jaw drop in awe. “i wanna do that!”

White crane kung fu 2 years ago

After much deliberation and investigation (rhymes eh?) I’ve decided to choose white crane kung fu. Lucky me, there’s a school in my city and it’s actually a really good one. I saw one of their lessons one day. White crane and parkour, these are things i wanna learn. i look at learning kung fu as practical but also as an art. As a tool for growth, protection is need be, not so much a weapon. I don’t want to learn this martial art to kick ass. I want to learn it to, have more control over my body i guess.

My kung fu! 3 years ago

When I was much younger I acheived a green belt 2nd degree in Guakido Style karate. I still love martial arts and I have a plan! My lover and I are going to both get into the martial artsof our choice and then have weekly matchups. ‘MY KUNG FU IS STRONGER’ style. ^^ Oh the joy.

I dont really like rules and many martial arts have rules to them which is too restrictive. I’d like to learn a few differant ones and combine them to form a martial art that is better suited for me. Thats all martial arts are anyway perfecting and adapting guidlines for fighting styles to suit the individual. Right now I know enough to do some damage but have never been formally trained.
