write to a soldier

I wanted to write to some soldiers. I wanted to thank them for serving their country and for putting their lives on the line. I wanted to tell them that I am humbled by their bravery and inspired by their willingness to go overseas to do what they think is right.

I ended up sending a bunch of care packages; over the past 8 months I’ve mailed parcels to more than 20 men and women. They like the “goodies” but letters are truly their favorite! They just want to hear about “normal life” back home. They love to read about silly stuff my cat does, funny things my 3 year-old niece says, getting yelled at by my boss, taking a vacation to Florida. Not because I’m such a wonderful writer but because most of them are homesick.

I also tell them that I want them home safe and sound. Sadly, many of them don’t have strong family units and don’t get to hear things like this from their own parents or spouses. Sometimes, they pass around the letters so that others in their unit can read them. Other times, they keep them in a special box; treasuring any kind words that anyone writes to them.

I can’t believe that in order for us to be able to write to the soldiers who are fighting for our freedoms we have to pay money on most of these websites.I am so grateful that those men and women are there so that I can voice my opinions freely,and continue to do the things that makes me who I am.

I lost my brother in Iraq this past spring so I just moved from FL home to be with my grandparents who raised us I feel alone. with no other family here and my 4 year old and I here well small town is all I have to say everyone even now say how are you I am so sorry do you think about him’’’ I know they mean well but I would love to have some one to talk to. Twins are close and he was my best friend

I am so proud of all our soldiers. Our son was in desert storm and his daughter is in the air force and has been to iraq. I pray GOD keeps you all safe.

i always wanted to get a really close relationship with a solider and write to them !

I find that in the time we have placed our men and women in harms way they need to know that people here love and support them. I have several people in my life that are part of the military and have been in war. I want to be able to bring some kind of peace no matter how small….

In the mean time here at home..in America…Our rights are being stripped…we are being robbed by our own government…Bush has all but drug the Constitution out on the White House lawn and set it on fire.
I beg you all..You swore an OATH to defend this country..And now Bush wants to use those coming back here to make us prisoners (Marshal Law) I wonder what would happen if you all just said NO..NO MORE KILLING..NO MORE WAR FOR OIL..NO MORE WAR BECAUSE THEY DO NOT WANT TO USE OUR NOW FAILING DOLLAR.
We have no right trying to force our beliefs and our system down any other countries throats. We are now the most HATED country in the world because of Bush/Cheney and most in government now. We have NO RIGHT to police the world. Bush had no right to send you over there..PLEASE..JUST STOP…COME HOME…DEFEND YOUR FAMILIES..YOUR NEIGHBORS..YOUR STATE..YOUR COUNTRY…STOP THE TREASON THEY ARE DOING…

hello everyone! :)
so i’ve never done this before, but i was thinking to myself, “i have a cousin out there. imagine how many others are just like him…” and so i went to trusty ole google. i just wanted to say all you men and women are what sets the US apart from so many others in the world. you all just go out and do it. there’s been an earthquake. who’s there fastest, with the best supplies? the USA. and it’s always things like that. to put it plainly, you all rock my socks. and i’m canadian, so i had to get past my standard canadian ego to realize this, so i hope you realize how special you guys are, to everyone. and i’m always here for a talk :)

Hellow, this is my first time ever doing this.I have friends that are in iraq fighting for our country. i also have a foster sister there as well. i hope everyone makes it back home to there families and friends safely. and may god bless you all.
