robjv spinning in a vortex of self-doubt and great hope
I’ve tried to play a few times over the last several years, but it just doesn’t click yet. I found a club in town and I know I can learn to play well if I just get enough courage to join the club.

Have played a few games with this program. I’m going to start logging the results of each game.
Hopefully, by the time I play 200 games, there will be a definite improvement.

Tried playing Go online. I didn’t quite understand the format of the online game, and ended up playing another person. I thought I would be playing the computer, and that I would be able to get hints, but that wasn’t the case. Needless to say… I lost.

I was just taught how to play Go, and was told I need to play at least 200 times before I can really start to see the strategies. And I was also warned that I’d probably lose most, if not all of those games.
So far, I’ve played once (9 X 9) and won by 4 tiles. Beginner’s luck, or did my sensei let me win?

Played go the other week. It was only my second time, and I somehow managed to win! Much fun was had.
Apparently, the complexity of go is such that no-one has yet designed a computer that can out-play the best go players. It’s Worth doing just for that reason.

because that’s what i learned here near philly. maybe someone local made up the game and called it ‘go’ because this is obviously not the game people are talking about here.
i like the ‘goscrabblegame’ but now i’m embarrassed. bye.

My friend and I are now attempting to play go every Thursday. Tonight was the first of hopefully many good nights of go.

I’ve played mostly on the computer. There is a good free Go program for OSX called Goban.
Not very good, but not a beginner either. Would like to play someone over the Internet soon.
