Tink is pleased with her progress.
Once a week for the first two weeks after I joined the gym, and twice (the maximum offered on the current schedule) this week.
Due to a stubborn case of plantar fasciitis in both feet, compounded by a long-ago knee injury that has flared up in apparent sympathy, there’s not much in the way of land-based exercise that I can do at the moment. And I find swimming lengths to be stultifying.
So this class offers me the best of both worlds: virtually no impact on my feet or knees, and a decent workout (set to music, and with the encouragement of an instructor) that I enjoy doing.
Some of the moves are quite dance-like, which feeds my spirit because I miss dancing desperately. Others are more standard aerobics. One instructor (so far there have been 3: not sure whether the rotation is standard or just a result of vacations) even gets us doing karate kicks and punches in the water. A great way to release the day’s frustrations.
Alaythia is slowly settling in
and I stuck out like a sore thumb. I took the class in the morning, on a weekday…a time when apparently only myself and a bunch of 70 year old women were able to attend. lol. It was fun, very low impact, but I abandoned it when I got back into swimming a little later.
CropTillDawn~ Trix are for kids!!!
The instructor had 50’s music on the boom box playing stuff like Jerry lee Lewis & Bill Haley and the Comets some of us more rowdy gals were singing in the back and were not playing attention to what the next moves were! LOL!
Later when I was in the Yoga class I went to sit on this matt and I didn’t know that you had to set up your own, I thought they did that for us, here is was on of my new rowdy friends and she kicked me off it! She came in lat and got a dirty look form the teacher! HA HA! ;)
I did get told that I had to sit at the tables for meals with place setting on them, by the young pregnant waitress. I figured that the people here want to relax and they don’t want TalkYouEarsOffDawn at their table LOL! I get into mischief everywhere and I have not been here for 12 hours yet! :P
I started aqua aerobics about 4 months ago and it is the best fun I’ve ever had while exercising. Everyone I tell about it always laughs as they think it’s for old ladies and pregnant women, but my class is full of young women who just enjoy a really good work out. It’s the only thing that properly tires me out (much to my boyfriend’s delight). I go twice a week and feel so energised afterwards. Love it.
