I tried online penpal organizations but it never went far. Now that my brother is in Iraq I have learned of Soldier’s Angels. When you sign up, you are assigned a deployed soldier in a war area, such as Iraq. You are required to write a letter a week and send a box or two a month. Some soldiers include email and yo can write to them online. I do that, plus it can really put a smil on a soldier’s face!!

Sometimes corresponding could end up feeling like a chore maybe because we don’t really have much in common. I find that the long time penpals I have are those I can relate with one way or another.
