Slacked off for about 4 days. Had a friend with a spare ticket invite me at the last minute to a Johnathan Coulton concert on Friday and that killed my inertia. Saturday is supposed to be my rest day anyway but I have no excuse for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. At least I’ve been climbing the stairs at work (at least 17 flights a day). Plus I did my core work (mostly abs) this morning.

Getting to the point my core exercises are almost a regular thing. Once I start it’s no problem. The problem is motivating myself while facing all the other stresses. Hard to convince myself to work out with all the other stuff hanging over my head.

I’d been fairly good about this for the last week and a half. But didn’t have the energy last night when I got home and got up too late to do anything. I did do some abdominals yesterday morning and plan to do some when I get home tonight, so it’s not all lost. And I’m back at the climbing now that I’ve got new shoes. Only had about 45 minutes for it yesterday. Also have been climbing the steps at work. Went 27 flights yesterday and have done 12 today. But I really need to focus on the core work, calisthenics and running.

Wow, it’s 2009 already, the second Saturday of the month. Well here I go, I’m going to walk just as soon as I turn off this computer…
Tomorrow is the first day of my new venture. I need to lose about 75lbs. I am 51 and would love to be healthy and feel good. I will be using the Crack the Fat Code book by Wendy Chant as my actual eating program. Tomorrow I am going to get up about 6:30 and go for a 1 mile walk. I really struggle with consistency. I have been on the roller coaster diet for years but would really like to do this this time. Any suggestions!

I have been working out 6 days each week and I have been tracking in My Food Diary .com so I no longer need to track this over here.

I did 45 minutes on the eliptical – 775 calories and 45 minutes on stairmaster – 730 calories. Same amount of time as yesterday but over 100 calories more burned off. I forgot to charge my IPOD so it went dead on me so I tried to stay focus on what I was doing and stay in the present. Almost like a meditation. It worked pretty good but I still like my IPOD.
I am going to do the same today but add 30 additional minutes on either the bike or treadmill for a total of 2 hours. Looking to burn off at least 1800 calories.

Sunday 13th – 1 hour on eliptical, 1 hour on stairmaster, and 30 minutes of running got me 2200 calories
Monday – 35 minutes on eliptical & 35 minutes on stairmaster = 1200 calories
Tuesday – 45 on eliptical and 45 on stairmaster = 1435 calories
