My love took me to The Green Dolphin for my birthday after I allowed him to have a glance at my list on 43T when he visited in February. We both love jazz and this place has been playing live jazz EVERY NIGHT since 1998. We went twice during my visit to him in Cape Town. On the first evening we saw the Gloria Cooper Quartet, with Ms. Cooper visiting all the way from The States, and three nights ago we saw the Emily Bruce Quartet, local but brilliant… I’m in love… This is the perfect way to spend an evening and will be near the top of my list of reasons for moving to Cape Town, which has a rich and vibrant Jazz culture. It was amazing, and I love my boyfriend for taking me :)

and yet have only been to one jazz club. Now we have a jazz club in Manchester this must be remedied!
I’ve been nagging my friends forever to join me in this. What could be more fun than getting dressed up, going out for a nice meal and then off to a jazz club for some cigars and Jack Daniels on the rocks? Come what may, I’m going to do this in 2008.
Stephanie is doing nothing in buenos aires! yaay!
nobody wants to go with me :(
It was such a great time! Went last month to see Matt Dusk perform. Great atmosphere, GREAT music, great food… it was just a wonderful night. I’ll definitely be going back again!
vivacekate should get out those sweaters
I turn 21 in 26 days. 26 days until I can complete this goal! I am ridiculously excited about it. :-) Any suggestions on good jazz clubs in Chicago? I’m thinking the Red Velvet Lounge might be a good start for a first time, but would love to hear about others.
Well this moves over to the done list. I went last night to a Jazz club in Manhattan. The group played well and we had a nice night. I think it might even be something I do on a semi regular basis.
Tommorow this should go in the don it list. Going to a jazz club in Manhattan tonight, unless a monsoon hits.
I ll give more details tommorow
I think I’d like the atmospere in there, doing some smoking, wearing my beret, just appreciating some different music to the general generic rock that is all around. And live music is always better
Helen22 should start packing soon
Ah jazz, how I love it. And the jazz club. The epitome of cool. Any suggestions for a good one would be much appreciated.
