Lessons again
I had never played tennis until early last year, when a friend and I took lessons from the city tennis organization. I liked it! I’m not stellar – I rush into the ball a bit too much – but I would particularly like to improve this year.
Another friend is talking about taking the same lessons this year, and I might join her. I could use the practice and the friend to play with! Stay tuned…

Not coaching. I’ve had loads of practice and picked up some great new ideas, but coaching isn’t realistic at the moment. Perhaps next year.

Last night was the first match of the season. I played pretty well, but I’m aching today. I also made some really bad decisions on key points, and when I get tired my serving gets weaker so the stronger players can really punish them. Need to work on my strength and endurance.

From my mother :-) now spent on a second Wilson racket (so I now have a matching pair – no more panicking when a string breaks as I revert to my ones of random tension!) and some tennis balls for the season. I just need to get them re-strung to the same tension and I am ready for League matches. First team practice on Tuesday next week.
Oh, and I bought a tracksuit! So I don’t have to look like I’ve just finished painting the bathroom when I play (although it’s nice to surprise people – why do people think decorators have crap backhands?)
Oh, and I was considering some more coaching to beef up my serve and try to prevent shoulder aches and pains.
Let the season commence! Tennis makes me feel young.

I have found someone to give me a few lessons; we have just to arrange a time.
