    This is my cholesterol on drugs 15 months ago

    With taking Zocor for 6 months…

    Total Cholesterol = 179 (down from 260)
    HDL Cholesterol = 48 (up from 46)
    LDL Cholesterol = 107 (down from 184)
    Triglycerides = 122 (down from 151)

    Try to limit foods with these ingredients: Partially Hydrogenated or Hydrogenated Oil and Shortening (trans fats) – less than 1 percent of your total daily calories

    I got my cholesterol checked again. I’m just waiting for the results to see if the Zocor actually helped. I’m sure I could do better with my diet.

    Higher Cholesterol 21 months ago

    I had stopped taking my Zocor and I’ve known I needed to get back on it so I went and got my cholesterol checked again.

    Total Cholesterol = 260 (high)
    HDL Cholesterol = 46 (acceptable)
    LDL Cholesterol = 184 (high)
    Triglycerides = 151 (borderline high)

    I need to get the HDL up and all the other ones down. I will be going back for a blood test in 3 months…hopefully the numbers will be better.

    I finally started exercising. :) Last week I did two days of yoga and Sunday I did low cardio with upper body and yesterday I did low cardio with lower body. I was going to do yoga today but I got lazy. :(

    I don’t eat bad but I don’t eat all that great either…especially if my goal is to lower my cholesterol. I must work on that.

    I’ve bought frozen berries to thaw a little bit at a time and put them in my cereal…but do I take them out of the freezer, no.

    I’ve bought some fruit (like apples & grapes)...but do I eat them, no.

    I’ve bought stuff to make salad…but do I make salads, no.

    I’m wasting food! That’s not good!
    I need to make more of an effort to eat the healthy food that I buy. I shouldn’t be wasting food.

    High Cholesterol 2 years ago

    Total Cholesterol = 224 (borderline high)
    LDL Cholesterol = 142 (borderline high)
    Triglycerides = 161 (borderline high)

    I’m going to be taking Zocor 40 mg.
    I need to keep up with the exercising and definitely need to eat better.
    I also need to lose about 10 pounds…maybe less if I replace the fat with muscle.

    I have a habit of eating alot of bad carbs. So this weekend when I go grocery shopping I’ll need to buy healthier food. I also need to get over not wanting to take the time to cook. My idea of cooking is pre-packaged meals you throw in the microwave or skillet and heat up for so many minutes.
