I’m actually in the process of knitting one! I bought some beautiful wool (real wool like from a sheepy!), its really chunky and its in two gorgeous colours called cookie and cream! I’m knitting it on big needles so it’s coming together quite quickly actually! I’ll be sure to post piccys!

Never knew how to do it, so I’ve researched it and want to get started! Off to start collecting scraps!

I’ve decided I’m going to make a crazy patchwork quilt. I’ve started saving material and trading for material on swapbot.

I’ve done 4 quilts now. They’re so rewarding. I’d suggest 2 things:
1) Make the first one a smaller quilt – quicker gratification
2) Buy some of the proper tools…it makes the process so much more enjoyable.
I’ll try to post a picture of my most recent quilt (never tried to post a pic here). I love, love, love picking out fabrics.

I made a few baby patchwork quilts then made a huge king size patchwork quilt. Its delightful to know such a tangible, and unique skill. With so many pre-made blankets and comforters available on the market, its a rare treat to have a handmade quilt these days. Kudos to those who want to learn and just dive in and make one!

so i’ve been saving scraps and pieces of fabric from old worn-out clothes that i’ve loved or have had good memories in. i’m so tacky and nostalgic, but when i get started on this beast, it’s gonna be awesome, and i’m probably gonna use it for picnics all the time.
is it bad that i saved the pocket from the first pair of pants i was wearing when i went on a first date with an ex?

i see this as a long term goal and as a sort of journal of my life using fabrics of clothes that i have worn.

I’ve made a few so far—and after doing that first one, you learn a LOT! So, don’t think the rest will be like that, because it only gets easier!
