Week of Nov 9th (9) 6 days ago

I’m trying to keep on that balance between pushing myself a little bit and not overdoing it. Some days it worked, some days it didn’t. I overdid it a couple of times, but am trying to be more moderate.

I walked at least 25 minutes 5 times this week.

End of first complete week 1 week ago

It’s the end of the first complete week since I joined the gym and we’ve had a bit of a heatwave down here… Nonetheless I’ve attended the gym three times as planned. Woohoo!

I haven’t noticed any weight loss yet but through the visits I’ve done to the gym and the exercises that I’m doing my posture has improved a lot. I’m now standing up straight and doing no further damage to my back. As such I’ve made an appointment with my physio to fix what I’d already done to my back and shoulder and this time I might not have to go back so soon.

First gym session 2 weeks ago

So I had my weight and measurement done at the gym today and also had my first session of exercise. I’m going back on Friday and intend to go at least Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The plan is good and has started as intended. Now all I have to do is continue.

Of course, I’m absolutely exhausted because I hadn’t done any exercise for such a long time but I have a feeling that it’ll be worth it.

I joined a gym! 2 weeks ago

Well, I decided that I was never going to start doing this if I just tried to do the treadmill thing at home so I have now joined a gym. I’ve paid for my first three months and I have my first appointment for weight, measurement, and training on equipment on Wednesday morning. Funnily enough, this gym is only about 2 minutes from my house and I didn’t even know it was there until yesterday…

Week of Oct 26th (8) 2 weeks ago

3 done, 2 at the gym & one very long walk.

I thought I’d also get sessions in this weekend, but it didn’t work out because of too many houseguests & scheduled events. It’s okay, I still had my 3 in the bank from earlier in the week.

Next few weeks are off for medical reasons, but as soon as I’m allowed, I’m going right back on track, so I’ll keep counting from my next allowed week as week 9…

Week of Oct 19th (7) 3 weeks ago

I got myself organized enough to book in exercise sessions so I could enjoy the weekend knowing 4 sessions were done (and could add to it if circumstances allowed). They didn’t but that’s fine, as I did 2 good gym sessions, and two long walk during the week.

Week of Oct 12th (6) 4 weeks ago

This week I made it to the gym twice, plus one long walk, so I met my goal. I had planned to get to the gym yesterday but we had workmen in the house most of the day, then I decided to meet a friend for tea in the only time I could have gone to the gym.

I knew I’d make my goal and keeping strong personal support is really important to me right now, so I don’t regret the decision, but another session at the gym would have been nice.

I moved the elliptical level up to 8 today, and although my heart rate showed a difference it was still do-able, so I’m happy to be seeing real progress.

Week of Oct 5th (5) 1 month ago

Back on track!

Made it to the gym 4x, plus walked 40 min once (on one of the same days as the gym).

I’m keeping this goal as is for a while (I have surgery in 3 weeks, and will be off for that, then recovery). After I’m back I’ll plan to do 12 weeks back at 3x a week goal, then maybe try for 4x a week…

Making the goal something less than every day is really a stress reducer.

week of Sept 27th : On a medical pause 1 month ago

We went to the gym on Sunday, and I will go again this weekend, but my fertility doctor recommended against exercise this week due to the IVF stimulation (he said it draws blood away from the ovaries).

Will be right back on it for next week, and will get in 1 day this week instead of 3.

I’m even thinking about trying to up the number of times per week to 4… but it might be a bit early for that.
