Learn the Sax — 6 months ago
Always been a dream – cost and time has always been excuse – no more!
Always been a dream – cost and time has always been excuse – no more!
The music course I planned to take to learn the saxaphone has now finished. I took the course, but I learned we weren’t allowed to choose our instruments (Personally, I think thats a really stupid idea). I got stuck playing the trombone. Which is not nearly as interesting as the saxaphone. And no matter how much I begged, I wasn’t allowed to switch over. I was really crushed. But hey, at least I got to learn to play a new instrument, even though it was the wrong one.
JUst seems so sultry, sexy, when played right. I’m told it’s also a really difficult thing to learn.
I already play guitar, violin and piano and aside from thinking the saxaphone makes such a sonerous sound I want to play a woodwind instrument!
I have often thought about learning to play the saxaphone. I played the flute for years and heard the fingerings are the same. My creative side has become more about sculpting and writing, but I miss making music.
This has always been a dream of mine. I would SOOO love to play the Sax but I dont know that my family would be so keen on putting up with me practising…
i love jazz and i love saxaphone i want to learn to play so can any one tell me some good saxaphone brands?? for a biginer please thank you
the melody man
Ever since i was little I have always wanted to be able to play the saxaphone. It’s my favourite instrument. But my parents wouldn’t put me for lessons. Next year i am going to take the music course at school and I will finally learn how to play the sax!!! I’m so excited!
I can see how 43things can be motivating. Getting a cheer on this goal really jazzed me – sort of like someone is paying attention to the fact that I said I want to do this, so now I should really do it.
Unfortunately I got the cheer while bedridden with a migraine, doing my best to avoid bright light or loud sounds.
I’m on the road to a pain free brain, and will probably be able to pick up the sax (well, pick it up and make noise – hopefully music even) without pain in a day or two. I just hope the burst of energy about this goal last long enough for me to be able to use it.
Worth doing!
I learned to play sax when I was about 10 or 11. I haven’t played in a couple years but I still remember the basics of it all and I’d love to play again. Feeling the vibe in your tongue with that sweet, funky, jazzy sound coming out – it’s amazing. It’s not all that hard to learn how to do, once you get the basics down and if you’re dedicated to it. Definitly worth doing!!!
