design a roleplaying game

I’ve thought about doing this. I think it would be fun where you control the elements of the game based on your own creativity as the designer. Eh, who knows.

I used RPG maker 95, 2000, and 2003. It’s alright to keep you occupied for a while, but you really dont get any attention. If you want people all over to play your game, learn actionscript and make an RPG with a macromedia flash program. That’s what I’m doing right now.

I have so much on my plate right now, this isn’t a priority any more; though it will probably creep back on the new list as a replacement for something that gets done down the line. I still want to do this, just not right now.

I’ve been converting all that old material to Guardians of the Order’s Tri-Stat System, so I can, hopefully, publish under their imprint. If not. I’m just going to publish a website for it all and make it free. Since it’s my first foray into the world of RPG publishing – I suppose I won’t mind giving it away. Also…

I need more playtesters, if anyone’s interested. Once the works done and I’ve PDF’d it. I can start letting people give it a go. Anyone? Anyone?

I’ve done this already. A good friend and I put together a system and a half-assed setting just to see if we could do it, and to help us figure out what we would need to do to get the real deal up and running.
Thing is, we never worked on the real deal; and the half-assed game didn’t get finished (most of my gaming group viewed it as just a “smash-em-up” game anyway, and not much for extended play-ability.
Since I can’t think of anything better (that hasn’t been done to death, or isn’t just a good scenario for another system); I think I’m going to take our original (re: actually Original) idea and run with it. I think I can flesh it out enough to make it a good game for campaigning or smashing-it-up; and now that I think about it…

... I may use it as the setting for my first novel. Gobs! wouldn’t that be awesome and cool all rolled into one?
