Gym rat, I'm not 7 months ago

I have been really good about going to the gym on a regular basis. One, I’m paying $25 a month for the membership but mostly I’ve gained weight and I’m tired of carrying it around! So I wake myself up at 5am so I can do spin class 3x a week. The other days I lift weights, walk or do some other cardio indoors or outside. I’m not quite to 5 days a week yet but I’m on my way.

So I definitely abandoned this goal long ago…

So many things have changed since I made this goal, too… I’m living in a new city, and I’m busy with school.

I’ve found a gym buddy and will be signing up for the University gym in January… Then I plan to kick this goal back into action!

Day 1 18 months ago

So today I started off my exercise regime right. The weather was gorgeous, so I went outside and tossed the ol’ football around with my brother for 30 minutes.

It wasn’t exactly rigorous exercise, but it did involve moving around, it made me feel energized, and I picked up some desperately needed vitamin D while I was at it.

Day 1 and I’m still not turned off exercise. : )

Working out is like flossing... 18 months ago

So just to give you the five second background:

misslariss was considerably physically active in junior high. Come graduating year of high school, priorities changed and a rigorous dance schedule fell through to occasional yoga. Now working from home at 40 hrs/week (God bless internet jobs!), she’s abandoned exercise completely and relies on her metabolism to stay average. Quite frankly, her metabolism is pissed.

Right, so… exercising is like flossing for me. It seems manageable, and the benefits are indisputable… but it hurts, I have to force myself to make it a habit, and I usually end up giving up after the first week.

But my life is kind of changing this summer. I’m going back to school (no more at-home workaholic tendencies allowed). It’s a new stage in my life, and I want to feel happy and confident.

I’m going to aim for exercising 5 times a week for about 30min a day. I’ve downloaded a crap load of exercise tapes (gyms make me nervous), and I’m going to start with the Slim in 6 beginner’s tape.

Tonight is the last night I will say “I’m starting tomorrow”.
