... oh, let’s be honest, I don’t wear belts. lol.
I worked out two days ago and then last night again. Two days in a row. Somehow I don’t feel an amazing sense of accomplishment. Eh, that will come in time, I guess.
Last night my hubby insisted on joining me. I gotta give him credit -he knows I hate working out around people I know. Funny how I don’t mind working out in a gym full of people I DON’T know. Anyway, he wants to make me push myself out of my comfort zone by doing SOME exercise with him so he is pushing me to do some strength training. Yesterday we did crunches and push ups (I am doing wall push ups at this point). He wants to add in alternate exercises for the opposite days so we can give muscle groups a rest. I will have to see what we come up with for that, but we are supposed to do something different tonight than last night. In addition to that I stayed home to workout on my elliptical while he went to the gym to use weight machines.
I am still not feeling any self-motivation toward this exercising. I really want to be thin and be healthy. And yet I have SUCH a lackluster attitude toward it right now. I just wanna curl up on my couch with coffee and a donut and watch tv and crochet. Exercise? Meh. 19 months ago
I keep saying that I am starting this TODAY but it always ends up turning into tomorrow… tomorrow… tomorrow…
Yeah. I am good at making goals but not good at completing them. I am good at procrastination too! My hubby wants to put a stop to that. He is good at procrastination too. But there is a big difference between he and I – about 100 pounds! He has a few pounds to lose and mostly toning to do. I have… many pounds to lose. And tons of toning after that.
In 2009 I took the bull by the horns and got inspired by a great book called Never Say Diet. It had phases to follow. Phase 1 was workout 5 times a week, without fail, no excuses. It was one month. If at any time you miss a workout – start over. And I never missed one. Even when I was SICK I worked out. That started 5 months of working out without missing one. I was serious about it. Aaaaaaaand then I got pregnant. I experienced with this pregnancy something I hadn’t had with my other too – extreme fatigue. Getting dressed made me exhausted enough to take a nap. I am not kidding. So, while I made an attempt to keep working out while pregnant – that didn’t last long.
During my pregnancy I gained back the 45 pounds I had lost and now I get to start back at square one. The only problem? I am not motivated this time. I don’t know how to get that motivation back.
So, here it is, 9:30 at night. I want to be watching Chopped or Biggest Loser or something else mindless and crocheting in my comfy chair, but instead I am going to the basement to workout on my elliptical trainer. I feel fortunate to have it. I just don’t feel like using it. I like it. I am just lazy.
Blahhhhhhhhh.
And another for my workout tomorrow. Blahhhhhhhhhh. At some point it might help me if I see this as a good thing… 19 months ago
