I recently joined my church’s Christmas choir. It’s fun to be singing again! I haven’t done much of that since college.

Michelle Lee Looking for friends
Hello, my name is Michelle, I have been singing in choirs since the sixth grade until High School.
I graduated High School in 1981 and haven’t sung since.
It would be nice to make new friends and join a choir.
If any one is interested, please respond.
I live in the San Fernando Valley, Canoga Park, CA.
I am a first soprano.
Lauren W. busy mama!
This is going to have to wait awhile. I want to do it, but between school/teaching/baby on the way, it won’t happen maybe for a year or more. So I’m clearing room for more attainable short term goals.
I need to knuckle under and join the local choir up by work. Gotta call their office in the morning.
Jesus loves me this I know…
Singing this morning during our school’s opening mass was a blast. I met some wonderful people, magical people who are full of the spirit. (You can tell by the light in someone’s eyes if they are inspired by God) These new friends of mine made me feel loved, and so in addition to singing in a choir, I’ve found my new family.
Okay, so both groups I tried out for waitlisted me. I did get excellent feedback from the director of the second choir, though—she said I had the voice to make it in her group, but that I needed to brush up my sight reading. Am now contemplating voice lessons to get myself up to snuff. There’s also the no-audition choir up by where I work, but that would make for a very late night on our rehearsal day. It wouldn’t be impossible, though…
Well I want to sing again because it used to be such a blissful escape for me throughout high school. Life was hard back then, but there was always choir… it’s been years and I really miss those times.
It’s a shame they don’t have any SCA madrigal groups where I live; that would have been my first choice. Other than that… I may just pay cash to be in a college choir. Vox Femina sounds amazing… but I’m nervous about auditioning. It’s been so many years, and I never learned how to read music (I just play by ear). Argh! Maybe if I get into practice I’d feel confident again.
Waitlisted by first group I auditioned for. Ah, well. Audition for next group tomorrow.
YAY!!! Singing at Sunday mass… benefits: seeing who goes to church without looking awkward (turning around and staring), meeting good, wholesome, kind-spirited, trust-worthy, honest, God loving, spiritual people (helps with that making new friends goal of mine), singing once again!!!!!!! Also, meeting new boys who love to sing, who are also deeply rooted in their faith. Finally, singing and music brings healing and clarity to my mind. This shall truely be a revitalizing and sustaining endeavor. Choir is AMAZING : )
