I cut my hair into a longish pixie cut in October of 2008. I was happy with it for a couple months, but then I started missing my long hair! I stopped cutting it and now, 1 year later, it is long enough to put in a little ponytail (although the bottom strands still hang out). I’m not ready to say “I’m done” yet, but I’m getting there! I’ve heard hair grows about 1/2 inch per month, so I’d say that in 12 more months (6 more inches), I’ll be at a decent length. =)

How I did it: I've had short hair since about the beginning of high school. The longest I had it since then was like, at the top of my shoulder. I met my Bf of a year in november, and he said I got nice hair, just not alot of it LOL so, now that I had two men in my life bugging me to let it grow out (my father is the first one) I ended up just getting trims every couple of months and let my hair do its own thang.my long hair is fun to style and what no… Read how I did it…

How I did it: Basically, what I did was get some shampoo that had some good vitamins in it, and just stuck with that. Plus, I would let my hair down all the time, once it got long enough to even put up. Then, washing it every day. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Simply put, I just quit getting my hair cut and only had it trimmed about once every 3 months. I also tried to take vitamins and avoided excessive heat styling. Ponytails became my best friend. Various hair clips and headbands proved very useful in the awkward "growing out" phase. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I cut the tips every 2 months and deep condition a couple times a week. I began to color my hair only when necessary and avoid heated styling tools. Now it is longer, softer, and shinier! Read how I did it…

can’t believe i have resisted using heated appilances for 9 months so far!
i’ve treated my hair like antique lace for the past 9 months(after years of abuse- hair dye, straightening, extensions etc.) and its finally started to look healthy.

My hair was about 1” long for years (I’m female) and I liked it, but now someone I love very much has asked me to let it grow. So I’m doing that out of love, and at the moment I hate how my hair looks! I feel like a middle-aged secretary (instead of a middle-aged Pagan nun) and I think it makes me look older. At least my hair is healthy and not yet turning gray.
it’s been a harsh summer with alot of swimming, but i got a softer showerhead and just stopped getting my hair cut at salons. seems like every time i go to a salon, they examine my hair and say it’s all damaged and continue to cut it all off, despite my pleas of saving as much as possible. i stopped dying my hair and use a 2-in-1 conditioner, which is supposedly perfectly ph balanced. my hair is growing! the top layer is damaged, but everything underneath seems pretty healthy. i’ll let it grow some more before i trim it all to one length. luckily, my hair curls at the end.
About a couple of years ago i decided to cut my hair and go natural. Since then I’ve had two kids and am ready for a change. At first My husband didn’t want me to do it but I did it anyway. Now he likes it short and doesn’t want me to grow it out. Says he’s afraid i wont do it, that i will just where it in a ponytail everyday. I really don’t care any longer whaT he thinks right now. I’m doing it for me. I’m kind of excited about it!
So, end of senior year, I chopped my hair. It didn’t even cover my ears it was so short. Everyone told me it made me look mature, but I miss the feminity of longer hair. I would at least like to have my hair a bit shorter than shoulder length.
P.S. I’m the girl on the right, obviously. Haha.

I have always cut my hair myself, and I’ve gone through a lot of dying it throughout the years. I last cut my hair in mid-July, 2009, and my hair still does not touch my shoulders. Well, the lower back layer of it does, but that is all. The cut I had was short, but it was long enough to cover my eyebrows and the top half of my ears. It’s been nearly a year. What can I do to help it grow even faster? I never use a hairdryer, I have shampoo with healthy vitamins, and I drink more water that I probably have in my entire life. What else is there I can do? Am I doing something wrong? Oh, and here’s the other thing…I bleached my hair, so now I have these brown roots, and they’re only about 3-4 inches long, some areas are even shorter. So, when it gets long enough, I want to cut off the blonde bits. This is why I want to grow my hair out as quickly as I can. _
Time to start the growth process I guess…for the ZILLIONTH time. GRRRR. I wish I had more patience, but my hair grows about as fast as my bank account (BARELY AT ALL!).... O glory days.

I’ve been growing my hair out since October. It was a short pixie-cut then, and it’s almost down to my shoulders now. I do still have the layers though, but my stylist and I are working on growing those out a little before we start working on the actual length. The problem with my hair is that it’s really fragile and is easily damaged. So even though I only cut it about 4 weeks ago, it’s already time to cut it again. :\
my hair used to crazy damaged.
i used to dye, straighten and wear extensions.
i have been going natural since january 2009.. and nearly all my hair has reverted back to beautiful curliness!
only my top layers are still damaged.
however i used a permanet dye in 2008 so my hair is jet black and my roots are coming in my natural shade of brown.
by this time next year i should have enough of my natural curly brown hair to get cut off the black hair.
its frustating sometimes because i am dealing with two textures of my hair… but i have to be patient
