    Ouch! 18 months ago

I went to a conditioning class, which the local capoeira studio is holding to help people get ready for actual capoeira. I got through it, but it was rough. I knew I was out of shape, but I had no idea just how stiff I am. I was planning on taking a second class this week, but I was too sore, so I’ll have to wait until next week to try again.

my muscles ached after that, for a few days. (still aching now!). but i don’t regret it one bit!

it’s very different from kickboxing.. someone at capoeira said kickboxing’s like training in the army. haha, i beg to differ because i had a lot of fun there :)

i’ve tried karate, taekwondo and kickboxing. i only liked the latter… now i want to get my hands (and feet!) on capoeira.

Yeah yeah, I know 2 years ago

I even got the pants!!! They even have little flags! I love them. Alas, June is physical therapy and bikram month. I promise myself TO TRY TO TRY it in July.

I bought the requisite calças de capoeira (pants) 2 years ago

    in Floripa. Bring it on.

still no *valid* excuse 2 years ago

but it never stopped me from making them.

i have this item on the calendar after an upcoming vacation. i have to buy special pants, so it can wait a few extra weeks.

I have no valid excuse for not trying this in the next month. 2 years ago

www.ensostudio.com – it’s quite near my office, they welcome beginners, and they have a 1st class free offer, as well as a “drop in” rate of $20 for a class (for committment phobes such as myself). I am afraid I am in pathetic shape these days and quite intimidated – but, then again, that’s more justification to DO IT!

Capoeira is great way to get in shape and TONS of fun. I highly recomend getting out there and giving it a try.
