Went to Tabacon Hot Springs near Arenal Volcano, Costa Rica. Beautiful! But not so fun for a solo traveller. Not going alone next time.

How to bathe in a natural hot spring..."Refreshed & Rejuventated"
How I did it: Ventured into the Australian Outback, passing several artesian hot springs along the way. Being the weary travellers that we were, we stopped along the way to soak our tired bones. It was such a relaxing experience and the waters really did have magically powers. Lessons & tips: Go early in the morning to avoid the crowds. Winter is prime. Resources: www.outbackholidays.info |

How I did it: We went to Hokkaido, Japan, for one of my dad's college reunion trips. Almost each day, we stayed at a hotel that had hot springs. Either at the beginning of the day before our sight-seeing began or at the end of the day, we could go and enjoy the hot springs at the hotel. The temperature of the hot springs was quite warm (110 degrees, if I remember it correctly). You weren't supposed to be in the hot springs for more than a few minutes a… Read how I did it…

There used to be a hot springs with a restaurant and masseuses and masseurs. But, it went bankrupt. Now to go there, you cross over some barrier or line. Maybe you trespass. I do not know. But the water comes out of the ground hot. It is a little smelly but not bad.
Monday, we go to Drakesbad. Lassen Park. Great natural springs.
There are springs all over. It is totally worth finding them and indulging.

I’ve done this. It was so nice and they say that hot springs are therapeutic. It could help you relax. Just be sure to keep away from the part when the water is scalding hot. you could even boil an egg in it!
It was quite chilly out and rained for about twenty minutes so there was a perfect balance of hot, cold and refreshing.
I recently went to a hot spring near Phoenix (at least 110 deg F weather outside). The entire experience felt untamed. In two days, I drank 12L of water (and the sweat was pouring down the parts of my body that wasn’t submerged in the water, especially my face). What a way to celebrate a birthday!
I’m planning to climb a mountain in August. Afterwards the boyfriend and I will reward our efforts and our bodies with a stay at a hot spring resort (not in a tent!) for the night.

...there are a bunch of natural hot springs. My friend Sean and I hiked up to them a few weeks ago. It was lots of fun… even if we did smell like sulfer after the fact.
I went to New Mexico a few months ago. I had many problems on my mind and I needed to get away and ponder what to do next. It helped so much to calm my mind and strengthen my backbone. It feels good to find my own version of heaven on earth, just in case I need to go there again.
