    I made it tonight!  — 11 months ago

    Worth doing!

    My partner really likes to buy quiches from a store we frequent, but they seemed kind of overpriced to me at $16.95, and I felt like I could make one just as well.

    So I made one tonight! Ham and leek, with a little sauteed (fresh) jalapeno inside and a few pieces of bacon sprinkled on top. And it was delicious!

    But I don’t think I actually saved much money, considering I spent at least $14.50 on ingredients (leeks, cheese, and ham).

    out of laziness. Does that make it a fritata?

    I do it when the asparagus and/or zucchini is in season, the chickens are laying eggs like there’s no tomorrow, and there are lots of herbs in the garden.

    I made a homemade quiche!! Not perfect, but I know what to do to improve it….decrease the fillings and increase the egg/half and half mixture. But it was pretty darn good if I do say so myself!! Check out the recipe on foodnetwork.com under refrigerator pie.
