I am thankful that I can say that I have a handful of friends that I can say that I have known them for over 20 years. Most of them are from grade or high school and the rest from places I have worked. As I type this, sitting here thinking of the times I have had with them!! Wow what a ride. :)

27 years with one of them, more like 37 with the other.
In that much time you definitely learn about the best and worst in your friends, and pretty much come to accept either (and everything in between).
I’ve known two of my closest friends since kindergarten. Our mothers tell a story about how we became friends on the first day of school (I don’t actually remember my first day of school).
But it’s incredible knowing someone for such a long time. They’re like an extended family. Hopefully we’ll all still be friends for many more years to come.
I’m still close friends with 2 guys who I first became friends with in 1984, when we lived on the same floor of our freshman dorm at University of Delaware. Most of my friends who are older than this or from around the same time have fallen away, but I’m still in regular contact with these two—one of whom is an ex-boyfriend. I went to his wedding a few years ago and hope to attend the wedding of the other soon (and hope someday they will both be able to come to mine!)
My friend lives far away but I talk to him all the time. I’ve known him for three years now…. still about 3\4 of my current life to go!
Adar is back.
I have two close friends of twenty years; one of them is the love of my life. There is something quite wonderful about knowing people and being known so well—and realizing that there are still, after 20 years, things we didn’t know about one another.
I hope I have many more years with these friends; I feel so lucky.
