I gave up because I bought a 64-bit Vista laptop and desktop and Photoshop doesn’t fully work on either of them. Grrr. 3 years ago

SallyKittGRRRRRR.

Since Adobe is not supporting this program for Vista, I’m not sure what the point is. I keep hitting dead ends and have to assume it’s because of my computer…which I upgraded specifically so I could run Photoshop elements.

Did I mention, “grrrrrr”? 4 years ago

LibrarianChapter 2

So far, I’m reading, but not doing. This was all about how to load photos into the program. But I’m not sure yet if I want all of my photos in there, all future photos, or just ones that I choose to work on in Photoshop. I still feel like there’s more that I need to learn before I’m comfortable taking any action. 4 years ago

LibrarianChapter One - DONE

I’m not quite sure why it was important to learn about program preferences in the first chapter when I don’t understand enough of the program to have any preferences. But now I know. 4 years ago

LibrarianPre steps

I bought the software and the book (Teach Yourself Visually Adobe Photoshop Elements 7). Then, I discovered I needed gobs more memory. Then, I got grumpy about the strange initial user interface and refused to look at it for a few weeks. But, now, I’m ready!

Opening the book to Chapter 1…. 4 years ago

SallyKittNew computer to run it

I spent much of last weekend switching over to a new computer with more memory (4 mg!) so that I could run this program more smoothly. Haven’t had time to play with it since. But will get back on my book/lesson track soon. 4 years ago

SallyKittChapter 2 completed

But I think I may have kind of made a mess of things already by uploading too many things. Eek.

There’s a lot to learn here, some cool tips in amongst things that I pretty much knew from other programs. 4 years ago

SallyKittChapter 1 completed

Found out where some of my favorite tools were “hidden” and that I can come back later and set defaults for things like brush widths, etc.

Also learned that it’s not connecting to the online support or the included support and that it’s because the program is designed for Vista and I’m using XP. Sheesh. The fix described on the website doesn’t seem to work. 4 years ago

SallyKittBought the Teach Yourself Visually book on PE7

Hyrda likes these books, so I thought I’d give it a shot. Going to go through it chapter by chapter, starting today!

It’s oddly different and similar to the old Photoshop 5.1 I’ve been muddling around in for a few years and not really understanding. 4 years ago
