attend quilt meeting each month in 2009

I don’t do well with potluck’s for some reason – my tummy doesn’t enjoy the variety – I almost always get a tummy ache. The december meeting is the potluck holiday meeting. I doubt I’ll go but I might.

I am going to mark this as done because I went as often as I could and in 2010 I’ll try to do the same. This time I’ll work harder on my quilt lists so I can have something to show off when I go.

I decided to do other things this past week and therefore didn’t make the table runner – I also decided based on the activities that are happening this week to avoid being away another night this week.

I am glad about my decision and I think it is healthy for me to try for things but then make the decisions to stop and do something else.

Now I need to go get something else done in time for the rest of the week. Busy toes I have!

a table runner I can fully participate in the meeting this month – they will be doing a fun table runner exchange – similar to a white elephant gift exchange. It is a bummer because not everyone gets a nice one but it is the fun of the exchange that makes it not that you’ll be guaranteed to take home a runner you really like. I can always gift it at my holiday party if I needed.

I am going to try to do this task this week – that way it will be ready to go!

who both also go to quilt meeting. Last nights meeting was awesome because for the past year the ladies of the group have been putting together quilts for Soldiers Angels. They are sending 60+ quilts. The local newspaper and news was there to cover the action! I got to sit next to Velma who is a retired lady who happen to make three of the quilts. She was asking a lot of questions because she had never been to a quilt meeting but only found out about the kits for the quilts because she was in the right place at the right time. It was fun and neat. Next month is the exchange for table runners.

I am going to invite my “little” to attend with me this month. I like to show her things I am ‘into’ plus show her that there are hobbies and groups of supportive ladies whom she can enjoy to be around as an adult when she is an adult. I wonder if she is going to enjoy it or not?

I sat with my mother and her friends Sandy and Madeleine. It is fun. I created my name tag at the meeting so I can now use a fabric type tag instead of a sticky label. I’d take a picture of it but then I’d loose my anonymousness on the internet – cuz it has my name. Oh woes me – how sad that I want myself so hidden.

I attended late this last week but I still didn’t miss much. I got there right when my mom was going to show something so I was able to see what she had created the past month. I also made some paper boxes from my origami goal and gave them to the two ladies I like to sit with that my mom sits with and I also made one for my mom! :) It was a fun meeting with a lot of laughs and I could tell that this group of ladies are neat. If I was retired I’d enjoy the bunch a lot more. I hope to have something to show and share for February! I took their mystery quilt instructions and hope to create a mystery quilt with my fabric collection so I can work on getting my stash down a bit. I also turned in a list of my UFO’s which I want to get done before November. The list is like this:
