I’ve been thinking about ways I can do this without destroying my budget (I’m a poor poor poor student), and I suddenly realised I can just aim to not have a car for as long as possible. My current budget doens’t really allow for the cost let alone upkeep of a car anyway. I think this is a significant breakthrough because for ages I assumed I would have to get a car, I didn’t even think about trying to make it so I could live off public transport.

No doubt it’ll get more painful as I’ve been allocated to hospitals on the other side of the city, but I’ll persevere. I’m excited by all the money I could save as well.

I’m pretty good with not using shopping bags with groceris, but have run into problems of getting things on the way home and having to accept the bag. So I am resolving to always have a cloth bag in my handbag so I can cheerily turn down the plastic bag. 2 years ago
