Startin tomorrow :) 6 days ago

I’m 16 goin on 17 in Jan, my top is a size 10 & my bottom 12. I’ve never really cared about my appearence before because I never really thouht I needed to impress anyone or feel good about myself. Growing up, I was a tom boy. Sure I still wm in to games & comics however I’m becoming more of a woman, wchi has really made me care about my appearance. Lookin at my size 8 friends (UK) & their glamourous appearence really has made me envy them. There for I really want to sort myself for the new year/my birthday. I’m gonna work on my complexion, hair & my figure so I can feel good & have a fresh start. I’m gonna look up some tips (obviously not going to do some crazy fad diet) & get started tomorrow :)!

Hi All, My name is Kelly and i am doing a Cert III in Fitness. I have been a size 16 and i have also been a size 8, i am 19 years of age and have been in a few modelling comps. I spend most of my time reading up on fitness and have been a member of a gym since i was 16, although it doesn’t matter how much you exercise unless you are putting the right things into your mouth. Ok, well you have all learnt about low carb diets and such, probably not the best option as it deprives the body of valuable nutrients (as you have probably heard a thousand times). Your best option is to eat 5-6 meals a day with correct portions this increases your metabolism and makes u burn fat whilst sitting still (yes whilst sitting still). You are probably now thinking how am i supposed to afford this, well it’s all about portions, instead of having 3 big meals a day, cut each of those meals in half and eat them at 3 hour intervals. To give you an idea on portions for your age i have attached a link which will give you the idea of things: http://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/bhcv2/bhcarticles.nsf/pages/Healthy_eating_for_children_and_adults
Now, the next time you go to the supermarket try skipping the unnecessary aisles, i would highly recommend taking a look at Tiffiny Halls book as well: How to get the perfect body. It explains how food either clogs or cleanses the system, i look at food and see either clean or dirty and for those people needing the caffeine hit i suggest switching to mint green tea not only better for you but leaves u with fresh breath and stainless teeth. Also i try and look at things as a pay off for a trade off, For example if you eat that chocolate bar what do u get from it? an increase in serotin which leaves u happy for 5 minutes, if u trade that off for an apple you will also get a insulin kick which will leave a lasting feel good sensation for longer minus the un needed calories. Girls it’s also important to remember your body does not register being full for 20 minutes after eating. Hope this helps :) p.s chuck some exercise in there for fun once you get the diet under control… your local gym should be able to start you off with a free plan to begin with p.s no i’ll start tomorrow excuses… that just hinders everything…

From a 16/18 to an 8 1 year ago

it has taken me nearly 7 months but i have done it. no exercise other than chasing my 4 year old around as usual. i cut out all soda, including my beloved diet pepsi, no more half/half in my morning coffee, and eating how i should rather than how i want to. i belive the key is making a life long change, not an impulsive change. portion control is also key. since i did not want to exercise, i had to reduce what i ate so that in a regular day i burn more calories than i eat. no artificial sweeteners or refined sugars, also whole grains and lean proteins.
oh and i do not weigh myself. do not even own a scale. i go by clothing size. US 16/18 to US 8….......don’t know what my weight is at all! liberating!!
another wonderful key item available in the US is the Kashi line of foods and snacks. they are high protein and high fiber with no refined sugars.
if you can make the commitment, it can happen with little to no exercise!
