start a charity

I want to start a charity because
I have always wanted to help people around me
But aroung the world would be cool.:D

I want to start two charities that I have envisioned.

The first is a legal service for disadvantaged people. Currently in Australia there is a system called Legal Aid – if you’re unemployed or on a pension of some sort you qualify.

They will defend you in a criminal case.

But alot of people get turned away because of lack of resources and people can be treated like ‘2nd class citizens’ simply because they don’t have the money to look after their own representation.

Also in Civil cases were someone is looking for compensation after being injured at work or abused – these worthwhile cases are unavailable to the poor.

I want to change that.

I also want to create a place where autistic and other mentally and physically challenged children can go and have a great time.

It would have a swimming pool (with instructors), friendly carers, activities, play grounds and much more. Parents could go to be with other parents & get support.

The kids could hang out with each other and not be bullied – and be away from the often hostile environment in our schools.

the charity will give pro-bono nutrition advice, and center around healthy foods and sustainable agriculture

I would love to start a charity. I was brought up by a single mum and it wasn’t easy for her. I also have lots of friends who have been brought up like me. I want to start a charity that helps single mums in my country. They work so hard for their children that they forget how important it is for them to live their life and enjoy it with a little bit of selfishness.

This cause will help single mothers financially, and perhaps education-wise as well (especially mums who had to leave school early to provide for their kids).

I can think of nothing more generous to do with my gift than to create custom clothing and accessories for the benefit of another. I have yet to pick a foundation or organization to fund to, but I plan to start small now and continuously grow through college.

The wheels are set in motion !

My cause would be to help children obtain instruments and music lessons so they can supplement their education with badly required and overlooked creativity.

I want to start a charity for children who spend long periods of time in the hospital

I think it would be awesome to start a foundation to help AIDS victims, children born with AIDS and thier mothers, in Africa. Does anyone know how I can get started, who to talk to and how much this is going to cost me?

Not that Ive won anything significant. But what would I do with it? I think that God wont give you anything you are not ready for, so I need to have a plan for when I do get a windfall. I was thinking of setting up a charity that helps families get out of the crushing debt scenario so many in America live in. There would be an application process, or it could be a flat out award for someone who is in need and will not get in over their head again. I would love to make a downpayment on a home for a single mom and her kids…so they have a yard and space to grow. My sister gave a single mom with no wheels her trusty little car, after she bought a new one. I once bought groceries for a family who was on food vouchers that where not yet valid. The manager made the man look like a fool in front of everyone, so I just walked up and gave my credit card to the cashier and told her to use it to pay for the milk, bread and baby formula in the cart…geez it wasnt like it was cigarettes or booze. Some folks…

Anyway…

Even if I dont get big bucks, surely there is something more I can do now…
