An incredible walk. 2 years ago

I’ve done this every time I visited my friend in Berkeley. A refreshing, exhilarating, fun-filled walk. But now she moved to Iowa. I hope someday we will be able to do it again.

Not really giving up... 3 years ago

but will park it over here as a reminder because I am going to do this next time I’m in SF.

My dad and stepmom got married on the golden gate. It was beautiful. The guard lady even waited until after the ceremony to kick us off. But yes, you can walk across it.

During the day, in the fog, when it is windy, or when it is cold. At sunrise, or sunset, in the evening when the moon is full…it never stops to amaze me. There is a pedestrian side of the bridge. One little shocker to me, there are suicide lines on the bridgw!

Beautiful! 4 years ago

It’s a great walk, amazing view and fantastic vantage point to view some of the land and water of the Bay Area. The bridge itself is pretty fantastic in all of its crimson glory. There are always loads of people walking, running and biking across it.

Yes, they do! 4 years ago

But maybe they shouldn’t… Someone jumped while we were walking across. Sadly, it elicited a few sweaty police officers and a couple coast guard boats, but traffic didn’t even stop.

On May 22nd 1987 I walked across a "Flat" GG Bridge 4 years ago

What an amazing experience. We started on the SF side and it took us about 20 minutes to cross we turned around and promptly hit a wall of humanity! It took almost 4 1/2 hours to get back to SF. Saw more craziness that day! Saw wheelchair bound folks and small children panicking. I saw a man throw his bicycle up and off the bridge because he couldn’t manuever with it. Would I do it again? YES YES YES

I rented a bike, – cycled through Golden Gate park then hit the bridge. It’s stunning watching boats pass below, and to properly appreciate the experience you need to go up onto the Marin headlands and look down upon it. I did it early January, but it was wonderful!

Don't do it laterally! 4 years ago

Stick to the sidewalk – it’s much easier. (Walking in the middle of the road [for the 50th Anniversary of the bridge] with thousands of others was a rush, though!)
