AHHHH FANGIRL SQUEE 1 month ago

that wasn’t meant to be in caps. Anyway, 16th October at 12.15pm

    OH MY GOD.

Loads of people thought it was rubbish, well I don’t know what movie they were watching because I adored it.

Anton was perfect. The whole cast was PERFECT. After having a pretty good idea of what I wanted after the 5/6 times of reading the script I was expecting to be dissapointed but everyone was amazing.

Heath, well he was such a great actor. The way he played it reminded me a little of Johnny Depp in Pirates.

Tom Waits was amazing. I think he was my favourite actually. I hadn’t really heard of him before. Christopher Plummer was great. Well they were all just great. Even Colin Farell was rather good.

    Lily Cole is just beautiful.

    Terry Gilliam is amazing.

    I loved this movie. Basically.

oh my days 2 months ago

today was just utter panic and emotional stress

firstly, the cinema we were going to see it at..well it decided it wasn’t showing it anymore. Then I found another cinema, which is infact closer than the one we were going to go to..then mother went and said we couldn’t go. I just kind of froze up because..well because I’ve been waiting near on 2 years for this movie, mamma knows how much I adore Heath and well…she just went and said no. For I don’t know what reason.

Then 30 minutes later after I’d ran off to my bedroom to go be all upset mammma came in saying we could go. Oh my lord that was one of the worst 30 minutes but EEH, 16th October at 12.20 I am seeing it.

The website is a bit confusing..it says audio subtitles next to the time..and every single time they are playing it…does that mean I’m going to have to put up with them?? Eh, it’s weird, but I’m not to fussed as long as I see this movie opening day.

    Ahhh, happy bunny I am

I may go read the script again.
Normally I’m not one for reading scripts, but I do love this one. I’ve read it about 5 times. ahh

    3 days x.x

Members of the troupe include a sleight of hand expert, Anton (Andrew Garfield), and a dwarf, Percy (Verne Troyer); Parnassus had been able to guide the imagination of others through a deal with the Devil (Tom Waits), who now comes to collect on the arrangement, targeting the doctor’s daughter (Lily Cole). Fri May 22, 5:47 am ET
CANNES, France – Heath Ledger’s final performance has been presented at the Cannes Film Festival.

Terry Gilliam’s “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus” stars Ledger as a slick-tongued man who falls in with a mysterious troupe offering a portal to fantasy worlds.

Ledger died after completing the real-world portions of the film. Gilliam finished the film with Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell taking Ledger’s role in three trips to make-believe realities.

The movie closes with the dedication: “A film from Heath Ledger and friends.”

see this film! It is sad to think it will capture the last moments of Heath Ledger’s film career though… I still think it was a touching gesture that Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell are completing Heath’s role and giving their paychecks to his daughter Matilda! So sweet! I have read it is possible coming out sometime in the Summer :)

Here is the synopsis from imdb.com (Don’t read if you don’t want to know much about the plot) I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone!

[The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is a fantastical morality tale, set in the present day. It tells the story of Dr Parnassus and his extraordinary ‘Imaginarium’, a travelling show where members of the audience get an irresistible opportunity to choose between light and joy or darkness and gloom. Blessed with the extraordinary gift of guiding the imaginations of others, Dr Parnassus is cursed with a dark secret. Long ago he made a bet with the devil, Mr Nick, in which he won immortality. Many centuries later, on meeting his one true love, Dr Parnassus made another deal with the devil, trading his immortality for youth, on condition that when his first-born reached its 16th birthday he or she would become the property of Mr Nick. Valentina is now rapidly approaching this ‘coming of age’ milestone and Dr Parnassus is desperate to protect her from her impending fate. Mr Nick arrives to collect but, always keen to make a bet, renegotiates the wager. Now the winner of Valentina will be determined by whoever seduces the first five souls. Enlisting a series of wild, comical and compelling characters in his journey, Dr Parnassus promises his daughter’s hand in marriage to the man that helps him win. In this captivating, explosive and wonderfully imaginative race against time, Dr Parnassus must fight to save his daughter in a never-ending landscape of surreal obstacles – and undo the mistakes of his past once and for all…]
