COMPLETE!
Today, I feel comforted and empowered by my conscious budgeting. I feel in control of my money, and I know I have everything covered. Thinking about buying my future godchild a gift doesn’t freak me out, because I know that I have the money and I know where it will come from (which budget) and how much I will allow myself to spend.

Complete! I feel really good about myself, and I feel proud that I am doing something positive to increase my sense of self-discipline and my physical health.

When I am telling my patients about what works in recovery, I often tell them that it’s in their best interest to go into their days with a plan. They need to sit down the night before and say, “How am I going to stay sober for this day? What can I do?”
I am doing that tonight for tomorrow’s debut day on this program I’ve concocted. This will help me remember everything I have to complete, but it will also help me reiterate that I do, in fact, have the time to do all of these things every day.

“I can still hear you sayin’ you would never break (never break) the chain.”—Fleetwood Mac, “The Chain”
Emily told me about this motivational concept wherein one adds something (a paperclip, i.e.) to a chain for each day she has completed her set goals, but if she does not complete her goals for the day she must start the chain over entirely. I think this will be very effective for me, and I hope to be able to post a photograph of myself with 28 paperclips at the end of this month.
