I love my grandparents. When I look at my grandparents, I get a better taste of where my parents are coming for. For example.
My grandmother, I can tell she’s a tough woman. Twenty years ago she lost her husband and a couple years ago, she lost her dog. She’s my father’s mother and I relate to my dad’s side the most. Pure Polish family; obnoxiously loud and hilarious. I can see the compassion that she shows through my father. He truly cares about everyone. I see him worry about me all the time. She still does this daycare thing and she’s been doing it ever since her husband died. It’s a great program for her to stay involved in. What a lovely woman. And shame on me, I don’t talk to her enough. As soon as I can, I’m going to drive to see her more often.
My mom’s ‘rents. Well they were raised differently than my other grandma. They are hard workers, and my grandma is kind and takes care of my cousin, who is very limited because he has seizures and can do less. They are a good family and currently at their condo in Florida! Should check in more often =/ I don’t enough.
I am blessed to have good grandparents, now it’s my duty as their grandchild to make that relationship stronger.
