I’ve always liked the sketchy, smokey bars, so Cellblock was an easy choice. I kept up with their calendar, participated in events, brought other friends, and made an effort to get to know all the other regulars. I’ve made a ton of friends that I hang out with outside the bar.

If nothing else, the money I save on my bar tab is well worth it. :)

It's like Cheers... 2 years ago

When you’re a regular at a bar it really is like Cheers!

Keri W. its like New years, but today!

I’m getting in on the ground floor for this one. The bar opens tonight; an unadvertised, paint still wet kind of opening. Time to meet the bartenders and find a bar stool to call home!

does a restaurant count? 3 years ago

THere’s this place that me and my hunnie go to on a regular basis for our weekend brunch. It has gotten to the point now that the waiter/manager remembers what each of us likes to drink! coffee for him and a LARGE OJ for me! :D

"I know a place to go..." 3 years ago

1)Great service…everyone knows your name, what you always have and how you like it
    2)Default place to throw parties
3)You always have somewhere to go
4)Alone? No problem. Low on cash? No problem.
5)Bartenders can be great listeners, are usually unshockable because they’ve seen it all, and you’re usually forgiven, whatever the state you’re in!

Have been going to a buddy’s regular gig at a place called Mr. Roberts (Madsion, WI) on and off now for several months….finally have my drinking prefs known by the barkeep…..great to get hugs when ya walk in, too :-)

Not that i really tried intensely, but it just happened that there was this nice Café/bar near the laundromat. Now i’ve got my own machine but still go there, alone or with friends. I’m always offered a couple of drinks, and when i don’t want to be with anyone yet do not wish to be alone, it’s just great.

Prince Albert, Coldharbour Lane, London 4 years ago

The Prince Albert is Brixton’s most popular drinking den, and I was certainly a regular here many years ago. A good place to sink a few, its recently had a face lift.
I was also a regular of The New Globe Inn on Mile End Road, while at college at Queen Mary’s.

Where everyone knows your name 4 years ago

I lived next door to a pub for six months and it was great and it wasn’t that I moved to save my liver oooooh no it wasn’t, honest!
