I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to do this. I like to participate in Wear Red Day every year. But I forgot about it earlier this week and ended up wearing my one red jacket on Tuesday. Then I realized it was coming up and didn’t know what I would wear.
Red is my favorite color so I do have some other things in red, but I didn’t think I had anything nice enough to wear to work. But this morning I went scrounging. Turns out I have a very pretty red knit jersey top. It’s versatile – can even be reversed for a higher or lower neckline, and has pretty slightly flared sleeves.
I love this top so much that I had stashed it in my dresser drawer to save it for good. I didn’t want to spill on it (like I frequently ending up doing with my daily wear stuff). I found it this morning and that’s what I wore to work!
Later when I was styling my hair I noticed how the hairdresser did a good job with my haircut this time. Short the way I like it. In fact, what I saw in front of me reminded me of my avatar photo. That’s when I realized – I’m wearing the same red jersey top I wear in my avatar photo! I thought that was pretty funny.
Of course National Wear Red Day is to remind us women to know our risk factors and our numbers – cholesterol, blood pressure, etc. Take care of yourselves, ladies!

I’m going to try to remember this date. I would love to encourage my workmates to wear red on Feb 6!

and didn’t even know it was a goal on 43T!
I heard about this awhile ago but I’d forgotten. Thankfully, this morning, while making my coffee, the news reminded me. Perfect timing.
I was happy to see many, many red outfits today at work.
Women unite!

K~ carpe diem
I love to wear red, so putting on my favorite red top wasn’t that difficult. There even was on the news last week that less people would die of heart diseases if all restaurants and take aways would use liquid sunflower oil instead of the solid, hardened stuff to make their french fries. It could be so simple. So there were plenty of opportunities to start a discussion and spread the word of Wear Red Day.

bp beautiful lyrics in my head.
I remembered to wear my red cardigan over my black dress. Thanks for the invite Flutter! This really did make me stop and reflect on my choices.

I’ll be sure to wear red tomorrow. I have the perfect top, too. I hope that somehow this event will help the cause. I’ve watched several things on tv about women and heart disease; it’s scary! I am doing my part to get healthier and make life easy on my heart. I hope it works…

penciled this into my calendar for Friday. Though I don’t have many places to go on Friday. Just lunch with a friend. What a lovely calm day that will be!

More women than men die of heart disease? It’s true. Friday is National Wear Red Day so wear something red and spread the word.
I was planning to add this goal, and was very happy to see that Flutterbyflyby3 already got it started. Thanks Flutter!

In Canada, red every friday is to show our troops support until they’re all home safe and sound.
Sounds like a terrific idea on both accounts.
Women’s heart health and no more war.
I’m in.
