How I did it: I met my ex-boyfriend, who was British, in 2006 here in Brazil. After 2 years of dating, one of us needed to moved to stay together, because it was very difficult to mantain a relationship by distance. I decided that would be more interesting if I moved to London, since I had never lived outside of Brazil. I moved to London in October 2007, worked like a mad to get enough money to pay my English course(I studied at St.Giles) and … Read how I did it…

Of all the things I have seen and done in this lovely country what I really pine for is the fish and chips from local pubs LOL. I know I know. It is just something I can’t seem to replicate anywhere else. And I know a lot of people have little nice to say about British food in general but I always liked it. It is the very definition of comfort food! So pour me a pint and wrap some fried fish in newspaper please!
I’d love to have a month to wander around the UK, but I’d take a week or two if I could get it. English/Irish is about 3/4 of my heritage (Swiss is the other 1/4). Ultimately, I’d love to be there for the 2012 Olympics in London. That way I could accomplish two goals at once. The book nerd in me really wants to see the sites associated with Jane Austen and Harry Potter.

Absolutely AMAZING, it was a part of my 16 day senior trip. I would love to go again.

I love the language and I want to experience the culture. It is a dream I’ve had for long. Just need to afford it.. and I’m not even close yet.

I have been to England twice—summers of ‘98 and ‘08. I absolutely love it! If you are a history buff, you must go to The Tower of London and Hampton Cort Palace. They are both excellently maintained and provide visitors with incredible access and enjoyable, educational tours. I was amazed by how much more access we were given to be in the rooms of the palaces and touching walls, fireplaces, etc. In the US you are much more restricted in environments like that. In addition to the historical parts, London is a beautiful and fun city with great shopping, bars and restaurants. The underground is easy to navigate and everyone is very helpful and kind. Enjoy!
I want to see London, I want to go to Manchester, I want go to all the historical literary type places
The family and I just got back from a 10-day tour of the British Isles. Very much fun—I enjoyed York, Dublin, and Bath the most, but it’s hard to say. Really want to go back and spend more in-depth time in some of the places.
