You don’t know until you try right? I made a korean dish 2 nights ago. It smelled good, it looked good, exactly like how I used to have it and liked it, bad dish? Because it was tooo damn chewy.
At least now I know that I should cook it longer and separate before mixing. Room for improvement!

New Practice

So the other things that I have been doing is get recipes of the things I used to love eating and try to replicate.
I made a Vietnamese dessert soup, corn to be exact and it turned out great. And I loved that I cooked it because it was to taste, not too sweet, not too dense like how it’d be if it was store bought.
There was another recipe, just for appetizer, deep fried akro, it didn’t turned out as should but, we’ll try again with some modification. Happy cooking!

1st step? is to follow recipes. That is what I have been doing. I’ve cooked more based on what I’ve tasted from my mum’s. After all, my mum had always cooked food in a healthier way. Minimal to no artificial flavors. Everything has always been cooked from scratch, so she always knew what she put in the pot. That is the approach I’m going for as well, cook from scratch.
A lesson I have learned? You can only improve after you have actually cooked the dish. You must know how it tasted the first time to modify it to be better the 2nd time. Just like anything else in life :)
